Just out of interest, as I’ve really been enjoying the fridge contents threads! Also, I’m in a bit of a recipe rut, so could use some inspiration.

We are a family of four, (2 adults and 2 dcs). I eat mainly veggie, but, since my family can’t seem to agree on veggie meals that we all like, I now just cook meat for the rest of the family and adapt it, so it’s suitable for me too.

Our favourites are:

  • roast dinner
  • choose-your-own-toppings pizza
  • pasta and veggie tomato sauce
  • sausage mash & gravy
  • Buddha bowl / salad type things with everyone’s favourite things

Very interesting thread, thank you! And thank you for reminding me about craponara (yes, that's what I call it) - I love it and should do it more often!
Family is husband and 2 cats (but the latter are a separate issue, and a special needs one), so human food preferences boil down to: lasagna, moussaka, that mince and rice stuffed in cabbage leaves dish no one here probably ever heard of, roast cock/lamb and something else I can't think of.
I love how my husband makes pasta when I feel ill.

I was also wondering if people who posted here their yummies manage that on 35quid per head budget as in the previous thread, or do it not too often. I don't think all this amazing foreign weirdness can be achieved on that, unless, of course, the pulses are your staple.

BloodyDisgrace · 04/04/2019 18:44

Cassoulet! That;s the 5th one. The best way, I found out, to cook venison so that it is soft and juicy. But this is probably a very obnoxious thing to say, so ignore the venison bit, just accept cassoulet. Or stew if you voted to Leave.
