Just out of interest, as I’ve really been enjoying the fridge contents threads! Also, I’m in a bit of a recipe rut, so could use some inspiration.

We are a family of four, (2 adults and 2 dcs). I eat mainly veggie, but, since my family can’t seem to agree on veggie meals that we all like, I now just cook meat for the rest of the family and adapt it, so it’s suitable for me too.

Our favourites are:

  • roast dinner
  • choose-your-own-toppings pizza
  • pasta and veggie tomato sauce
  • sausage mash & gravy
  • Buddha bowl / salad type things with everyone’s favourite things

This is a great thread - it would be even better if people could link to recipes, where available! Coincidentally I just wrote down all the meals that I can just about get everyone to eat (one adventurous, one quite fussy, one ridiculously fussy DC). mbosnz - would be interested in your chicken lasagne recipe.

Our top favourites are:
Nick Clegg's pasta bake (from the Henderson's Relish cookbook)
Stew and crispy dumplings
Toad in the hole with veg and mash
Salmon, new potatoes and veg
Tuna pasta bake www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pasta-recipes/kerryann-s-tuna-pasta-bake/
Roast dinner

My personal favourites, but only eaten by 3 of the 5 are:

Pesto and goat's cheese risotto
Spinach and chickpea curry (first made by DS1 in school cookery)
Tapas

troppibambini · 02/04/2019 22:13

Four dc, two boys two girls and weirdly the boys prefer very different things to the girls. Obviously just one of those things but a mighty pain in the butt.

Scouse with pickled red cabbbage
Beef casserole with mash and broccoli
Girls favs
Pasta with ragu and garlic bread
Roast dinner
Chicken stir fry with noodle

Steak with new potatoes and veg

They will all eat everything but it seems like someone's always bloody moaning.

What is this? Sounds amazing...

I have not-particularly-fussy DC but a DH who has recently stopped eating a load of things. So our current top 5 please-everyone meals are probably:

Roast chicken (whole, with all the trimmings, or thighs on a tray bake with veg, or chicken & chips, or a variation on the above)

Fish pie

Risotto, veg/chicken/maybe prawns

Pan-fried turkey steaks, with sweet potato wedges

Turkey meatballs with rice
