Just out of interest, as I’ve really been enjoying the fridge contents threads! Also, I’m in a bit of a recipe rut, so could use some inspiration.

We are a family of four, (2 adults and 2 dcs). I eat mainly veggie, but, since my family can’t seem to agree on veggie meals that we all like, I now just cook meat for the rest of the family and adapt it, so it’s suitable for me too.

Our favourites are:

  • roast dinner
  • choose-your-own-toppings pizza
  • pasta and veggie tomato sauce
  • sausage mash & gravy
  • Buddha bowl / salad type things with everyone’s favourite things

In no particular order:
Chilli
Fish and crispy potatoes
Curry and naan
Spaghetti bolognese (but I can never be bothered to make it)
Pizza (sometimes shop bought, sometimes homemade and sometimes takeaway)

BathshebaKnickerStickers · 02/04/2019 20:28

I have a child with massive food issues.

Our best meals are

Fajitas (because she can pick things herself without anybody even noticing)
Curry Night (butter chicken - which for some mad reason she loves - again with lots of bread/rice/poppadoms/ Dahl/dips - again she can take what she wants and again no-one notices or cares)
Pizza night - she can have a margarita pizza with no herbs and again no-one notices or cares
Roast chicken dinner - she has this at her Grannie’s - again she can help herself
Pesto Pasta - everyone loves this.

We all are most comfortable when she can have what she wants and no-one is making a “thing” or “trying to encourage her”.

Trust me, this isn’t a 5 day menu because it’s not amazingly healthy. These will form 2 days of a week, and if she eats well 2 days then that is what works for her.

@BathshebaKnickerStickers
You sound like a lovely mum
You just have to do what works for you and your children. Personally if that's what she ate I would be giving it to her.
Making a child more self conscious about how they already are is the worst thing to do. You sound amazing xx
