We're in the stressful and expensive process of moving house, next door have just sold for £170,000. We're on for less and have slightly less space and less than all agents suggested (165-170). But we're not selling!

Collective brain of the vipers nest is my next place for feedback - be as brutal as you like!

Op, you're going to need a new thread,,,congrats I think you might have made a new record with this one,,🥂

StylishMummy · 31/03/2019 18:30

I promise all that I'll do a new thread with new photos once available, we're halfway through levelling the floor of the conservatory and painting the walls. New floor due Friday this week and it'll be our new playroom/family room.

Upstairs configuration not being touched other than cosmetic touch ups.

Front we've not got hanging baskets and jet washed to smarten up.

These aren't ex-Council houses, we have original paper deeds and they've always been privately owned. There are council bungalows for older people opposite and they're beautifully maintained.

The 'parking' is on the lawn at the back, hence the low gates, there is a dropped kerb beyond the gate.

We're going to speak to the agents tomorrow get a rocket up their backsides.

Wow OP you're not wasting any time.
Your list sounds great and I bet the improvements will help loads. Good luck!

Motoko · 31/03/2019 18:50

Doing what you're doing to the conservatory, will make a massive difference there. Looking forward to seeing it when you're done. What flooring is going in there?

Bluntness100 · 31/03/2019 19:06

It all sounds good. Looking forward to seeing the pics and I think we all hope you sell it for a price you're happy with.

SandunesAndRainclouds · 31/03/2019 19:09

I have to give it to you OP, you’ve taken all of the harsh criticism really well. Fair play to you!

pisspawpatrol · 31/03/2019 19:11

Looking forward to seeing the new listing. Sorry you've had some awful comments in the latter half of this thread.

SequinsDress · 31/03/2019 19:32

Good luck OP. I look forward to seeing the updated photographs too. All sounds really promising.

elasticfantastic · 31/03/2019 19:34

Great job OP 👍👍👍 sounds very promising

InspectorClouseauMNdivision · 31/03/2019 19:36

@StylishMummy council house talk wasn't about yours but about one on a same street.
Look forward seeing new pics!

StarlingsEverywhere · 31/03/2019 19:48

@StylishMummy, I was the one who first mentioned council houses - someone linked to a couple of homes for sale near yours and I said I thought they were ex-local authority in contrast to yours.

CoffeeCoffeeTea · 01/04/2019 08:54

Good luck with all your changes. Hopefully once completed you'll get a decent offer, or you may decide to stay after doing all that work.

MmeBoulaye · 01/04/2019 17:56

Good on you! Hope you sell quickly then. I too am sorry some people responded so harshly - insensitive and unnecessary.

Some took her at her word. Perhaps a bit harsh at points but the tone of her OP (and indeed the content) indicated she had thick skin and wanted harsh comments

Wow way to victim blame.

Slow hand clap for you. 👏👏👏👏

Romax · 01/04/2019 20:11

@Bluntness100

She said “be as brutal as you like”

My point is that I suppose some posters took that at face value. It transpires the OP didn’t want posters to be “as brutal as you like”. Fair enough, I wouldn’t either. But to have said in OP that she wanted it does mean that some will indeed be “brutal”

Bluntness100 · 01/04/2019 20:30

Well yes but I'm guessing she didn't guess any normal person would "like" to be that brutal. Some of the comments on here were simply nasty. But if that's what you like, then yes she technically gave permission.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 01/04/2019 21:25

Likening the spare room to a prison cell hardly comes under brutal but constructive. That's just unkind.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 02/04/2019 15:47

Well done OP. I'm excited to see the new pictures and hope for the best for you. You've been a champ here.

I had a thread about selling my house and got such lovely support. Frankly, it got me through a horrendous time and I'm forever grateful. The hive at its best.

SequinsDress · 03/04/2019 16:19

Anyone else keep checking the listing, or is it just me who is over-invested? Grin

TrixieFranklin · 03/04/2019 16:40

@SequinsDress mee Grin

Contraceptionismyfriend · 03/04/2019 16:55

Can someone post the listing again please. It's so annoying on the app. I'm unable to get to the top again.

StylishMummy · 04/04/2019 22:37

New photos should be taken tomorrow and Saturday Halo
