So trustworthy and dependable. So profound, 'we've had enough of experts'. Such an obvious choice really at a time of national crisis. Words fail me.

I've only ever truly hated one politician and that's Gove. Destroyed education. Loathsome man Angry

ScarletBitch · 24/03/2019 12:31

Backstabbing snake, this country is screwed

havingtochangeusernameagain · 24/03/2019 12:40

I'd prefer David Lidington by a very long way.

But I am not as much of a Gove hater as a lot of the population. I think he did a good job at the Ministry of Justice and I don't even disagree with his aims in reforming school education though I don't agree with all of the results.

He is against no deal, which is one thing in his favour.

lyralalala · 24/03/2019 12:56

Only chance ge’ll get to be PM is when nobody else in the party wants to do it.

I feel this is nothing about what’s best for the country - If they felt TM was such an issue they’d have booted her out in their confidence motion thing,

This is just an absolute opportunistic attempt from Gove to have a go at playing PM imo.

BaronessBomburst · 24/03/2019 13:16

Can we have Jacinda Ardern?
No?
Thought not.

Tixywixy · 24/03/2019 15:01

Gove has really screwed education. It's become so crammed with facts that there's no chance to actually finish the syllabus and, you know, consolidate the learning.

My son's Politics A level is on course to finish with hardly any time to revise or do practice papers. That is if they had practice papers, which they don't as they've got no past history of the new syllabus or time to develop materials. And that's with the teachers putting on additional lessons for free in their own time, including a whole day of extra lessons.

Knowing facts rather than taking time to consider context and review all the possibilities before making decisions, well that sounds like a number of our current leaders.

It's got to be the greatest case of Hobsons's choice in the history of UK politics: May or Corbyn. May, Gove, Johnson or JRM. The blood chills.

GabrielleNelson · 24/03/2019 16:10

Angela Merkel will be free soon. Does anyone think she might like to come and help us out?

brizzlemint · 24/03/2019 16:12

Wow, you're brave....or something! Grin

lljkk · 24/03/2019 17:18

Govey is so good at understanding the UK's negotiating strengths. What could possibly go wrong?

If only Ed Milliband hadn't eaten that bacon sandwich...

Sparklesocks · 24/03/2019 19:07

A little worm of a man

Bugsymalonemumof2 · 24/03/2019 19:16

He is vile however I'm also in the "there is no one I would vote for" camp

wigglypiggly · 24/03/2019 19:19

maybe cameron would like to come back and sort out the mess he created.

FizzyGreenWater · 24/03/2019 19:39

Everything is so bad that it probably doesn't even matter any more.

Gove is horrific but so are the rest of them.

Although I have a sneaking feeling that Amber Rudd would be interesting. There's something almost human there. I'd quite like to see what she turned into if given the top job - I've got a feeling she'd surprise them all.

Namenic · 24/03/2019 19:41

Urgh... please not hunt. But I see what u mean from the choice of candidates...

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/03/2019 19:45

A new leader isn’t going to help the Tories, they’ve been eaten by their own eurosceptic civil war.

givemesteel · 24/03/2019 19:49

Dominic Raab or Sajid Javid.

Gove is unelectable, I'm hoping the party will not be that stupid.

Whether you're pro or anti Brexit (and most of MN seem to fall into the latter) the next PM has to be pro or at least get Brexit and why it happened. Part of the reason May has made such a mess of this is because she does believe in Brexit, doesn't believe in the UK's ability to self govern and doesn't understand why leavers voted for Brexit.

Namenic · 24/03/2019 19:55

Hunt has been terrible for nhs. He is not a politician that listens - just steamrollers what he wants out. Never answers questions. Just says: we are spending more than ever on health care. The new junior doctor contract will give fairer blah blah blah.

Figmentofmyimagination · 24/03/2019 20:36

Justine Greening would get my vote.

BertrandRussell · 24/03/2019 20:40

Dominic-goodness me, there are a lot of ferries in the channel what are they for? Rasb?

AFPH123 · 24/03/2019 20:40

He is a ####

marvellousnightforamooncup · 24/03/2019 20:44

Dominic Raab is like an entitled schoolboy of mediocre intelligence who doesn't bother doing his homework. Mind you, that goes for most of them.

cardibach · 24/03/2019 21:07

giveme if she doesn't believe in the UK's ability to self govern I’d be very surprised, since we do, and she’s been in charge of it! She’s made a mess of it, but even so...
There is nobody in the Tories I have faith in. And I don’t want any New Labour types either.

toomuchtooold · 24/03/2019 21:18

I would be outraged to see that fecker in number 10 bit are we allowed to say that on here? The thread about David Cameron just got torpedoed.

Snog · 24/03/2019 21:22

OMFG plumbing the absolute depths with Gove. Just when you think it cannot get any worse.
