To ask which dairy-free milk is nicest in coffee?

Hoping for some serious inspiration🙈 I have been told I am intolerant to dairy and need to go cold turkey on all dairy products. I've managed 3 days so far but I really struggle with black coffee - and I looove my coffee. Could anybody suggest an alternative to cows milk to put in coffee please? 🤞🏻☕️

Almond milk

Rottencooking · 21/03/2019 18:01

I've tried almond, soya, rice, hazelnut, coconut.

All rancid sorry.

Not exactly sure how it works but would the lactofree regular milk be an option?

thecatsabsentcojones · 21/03/2019 18:01

Oatly is really nice but put it in before the hot water otherwise it can curdle.

Rottencooking · 21/03/2019 18:01

Oh also tried oat. Not sure I liked that either.

Fatasfook · 21/03/2019 18:02

Oat milk.
Oatly brand do a barista version

badlydrawnperson · 21/03/2019 18:02

Oatly Barista edition - tastes good and can be foamed for fancy coffee.

Calzone · 21/03/2019 18:02

Dh says oatly barista.

HarrysOwl · 21/03/2019 18:03

Soy is nice in coffee, but not so great in tea!

-boast- I make the best soy milk Yorkshire puddings. Grin

Almond is perfect in porridge.

Rottencooking · 21/03/2019 18:03

I'll try the Oatly Barista one then seeing as 4 people said it at the same time 😂

Hazlenutpie · 21/03/2019 18:03

Is it a lactose intolerance? If so, you can buy lacto free milk and Costa do lacto free.

Brummiegirl15 · 21/03/2019 18:03

I’m dairy free due to baby’s dairy allergy

Oatly barista. Without a doubt

Moneymanifestor · 21/03/2019 18:03

Unsweetened unroasted almond milk. It's really mild and has zero carbs.

Petitprince · 21/03/2019 18:05

Oatly Barista is amazing. I like if better than cow milk - no allergies, it just tastes better. Lasts longer too.

JollyAndBright · 21/03/2019 18:05

Oatly barista is definitely the best.

emelsie · 21/03/2019 18:05

Oatly whole it's the best I found and I have tried nearly everything out there

mando12345 · 21/03/2019 18:05

Alpro fresh unsweetened soy milk is nice, only alpro other makes aren't as nice.

Disfordarkchocolate · 21/03/2019 18:05

Oatly barista, my husband is now sad when he has to use any other milk.

Boopear · 21/03/2019 18:05

Oatly Barista, although it can be a bit of a nightmare to find, as demand seems to regularly outstrip supply. There was a coconut one specifically for coffee new in in Waitrose the other day which may be worth a try..

jaseyraex · 21/03/2019 18:06

We like koko dairy free. It tastes most similar to cows milk imo.

Imoan123 · 21/03/2019 18:07

The problem with non dairy milk like almond is it curdles when added to hot water. Don't know how coconut milk reacts though. I know there is a barista style milk from I think oatly at Waitrose but is a couple quid that shouldn't curdle.

MRex · 21/03/2019 18:07

Are you sure it isn't lactofree? Arla is lovely.

beebear22 · 21/03/2019 18:07

Another vote for Oatly Barista

TheFirstRuleOfFightClub · 21/03/2019 18:09

Soy is nice in coffee, but not so great in tea!

I did vegan month (6 weeks) last year, absolutely hated soya in my tea but it was the best of everything I tried. After the 6 weeks i tried milk again, nearly spewed and decided i actually really like soya in my tea, now i sulk if i forget it when I'm out and about. In fact I have it as a total replacement now and love it. Grin

Lovescookies · 21/03/2019 18:10

I like unsweetened soya milk in mine. When I had to give up soya for a while I didn't get on with Oatly Barista, I preferred the Skinny or Semi Oatly instead. Barista however makes lovely hot chocolate Smile

Onynx · 21/03/2019 18:11

Omg thank you all so much!! I'll try the Oatly barista tomorrow 😊 I had tried the coconut milk- lovely in smoothies but left a greasy film on the coffee! Fingers crossed I'll like the Oatly🤞🏻
