This is May we’re talking about, she doesn’t give the shiniest shit what people want. That much is clear from her trying to force the shocking WA through repeatedly.

A million people basically marched outside her house yesterday and I’m sure she was just wandering around with her fingers in her ears. Useless bat.

chemenger · 24/03/2019 16:44

She is so sensitive to public opinion that today she is meeting with Johnson and Rees Mogg because getting them on board with her plans is her main concern. The Maybot’s not for turning.

LimaLemur · 24/03/2019 18:52

Over 5 million 100 thousand signatures now!! Smile

LimaLemur · 24/03/2019 19:52

Just over 5 million, two hundred thousand signatures now.

Clavinova · 24/03/2019 20:33

Oh dear - Channel 4 News have interviewed someone signing the petition as Donald Tusk, Jean-Claude Juncker and Michel Barnier. Grin

Pa1oma · 24/03/2019 20:34

People please sign the petition if you haven’t already! And ask you friends and neighbours if possible.

NewYear2018 · 24/03/2019 21:20

@ Clavinova Oh dear - Channel 4 News have interviewed someone signing the petition as Donald Tusk, Jean-Claude Juncker and Michel Barnier.

That was Steven Edginton of Leave Means Leave. He was just doing his job - being paid to discredit the petition.

Iink here.

NewYear2018 · 24/03/2019 21:22

5,251,434 signatures

Alsohuman · 24/03/2019 22:03

Tsk, tsk @Clarinova.

Acis · 25/03/2019 07:02

It's laughable that the likes of Steve Edginton think that their signing the signature with a few false names makes any realistic difference to the strength of feeling being shown. It's particularly ludicrous in light of the significant evidence of fraud in the referendum itself.

Acis · 25/03/2019 07:02

Agh, signing the petition, not signing the signature.

I know, the potential of russian bots sowing division can be discarded because its something I personally believe in.

Obviously the russian interference is solely used on the bad side.

LimaLemur · 25/03/2019 22:06

Totally agree Acis

Arseholes

DifferentViews · 26/03/2019 18:20

The only thing I'm clinging to is that this might be another TM statement, like 'I'm not calling a GE' days before she did...

Alsohuman · 26/03/2019 18:20

I thought Parliament had kicked the government into touch. So they ignore the petition signed by more people than any other. Another nail in democracy’s coffin. I despair.

SovietKitsch · 26/03/2019 20:45

Keep signing folks!

Great to see the number of signatures increasing!

keepforgettingmyusername · 26/03/2019 21:20

It is going to be debated on Monday, the more signatures the more strength we give to MPs arguing for remain.

RickOShay · 26/03/2019 21:42

I have also emailed my MP. Might help a bit.

StoneofDestiny · 26/03/2019 23:12

5.8 million and rising rapidly 😀😀

Up with a stinking cold... and just received this response to the petition that totally encapsulates all that is wrong with Theresa May and her attitude to those who want to Remain. Dictatorial and not even the tiniest bit conciliatory to the 48% whose wishes have been completely fucked over. I honestly believe that if the result were the other way around, yes we would have remained but there would have also been serious acknowledgment and accommodation made for the 48% who wanted to Leave. We wouldn’t have pushed for a “hard Remain”. I’m also sure that petition like this for the unsuccessful side would have been more “We acknowledge that a significant number of people wanted to Leave”. This has got very little to do with honouring democracy and a lot to do with TM not wanting to be remembered for destroying her beloved Conservative party.

^This Government will not revoke Article 50. We will honour the result of the 2016 referendum and work with Parliament to deliver a deal that ensures we leave the European Union.

It remains the Government’s firm policy not to revoke Article 50. We will honour the outcome of the 2016 referendum and work to deliver an exit which benefits everyone, whether they voted to Leave or to Remain.

Revoking Article 50, and thereby remaining in the European Union, would undermine both our democracy and the trust that millions of voters have placed in Government.

The Government acknowledges the considerable number of people who have signed this petition. However, close to three quarters of the electorate took part in the 2016 referendum, trusting that the result would be respected. This Government wrote to every household prior to the referendum, promising that the outcome of the referendum would be implemented. 17.4 million people then voted to leave the European Union, providing the biggest democratic mandate for any course of action ever directed at UK Government.

British people cast their votes once again in the 2017 General Election where over 80% of those who voted, voted for parties, including the Opposition, who committed in their manifestos to upholding the result of the referendum.

This Government stands by this commitment.

Revoking Article 50 would break the promises made by Government to the British people, disrespect the clear instruction from a democratic vote, and in turn, reduce confidence in our democracy. As the Prime Minister has said, failing to deliver Brexit would cause “potentially irreparable damage to public trust”, and it is imperative that people can trust their Government to respect their votes and deliver the best outcome for them.
