Sending this to my neighbour?

Hi, we have Muslim neighbours that we say hello too, take in post for etc. I feel so horrified by the attacks in Christchurch that I want to send a card to them with not only condolences but also just a message of solidarity that should they ever experience any negativity, we are with them and would help where we can.

I know they celebrate the religious festivals and have wished them Eid Mubarak before etc. but I don't know if this is over stepping the mark.

Thoughts? AIBU

I said sorry to my Kiwi colleagues about the attacks. No harm in saying sorry to Muslims too. Muslims believe in the 'ummah' so they will appreciate condolences for their brothers and sisters who were killed.

Send a card to the local mosque and say as a member of the community you support them.

Brown british muslim here. Bertrand is spot on. A nice gesture would be received with much appreciation. Muslims wouldn’t feel like they are being othered because someone is being nice to them.

M4J4 is right, we muslims are one ummah so we do care for our brothers and sisters who were massacred. It is simply humanity.
