I have started watching Turn Up Charlie. I think he would be great as Bond. Bit of a departure what with the East End accent and looking (struggling to say what I mean accurately here) . A bit rough around the edges looking rather than polished if you see what I mean. And yes. He is a non minger crush of mine😀! Or a woman. Suggestions?

James Norton would make a great Bond

My minds eye took me to Graham Norton for a second and I though WTAF Grin

But yes James Norton would be a good one. So fancy him.

Saddened to see comments about Idris Elba.

Now we need a Q

Can we have Rylan Clark?

CoraPirbright · 18/03/2019 10:21

Totally SAM HEUGHAN!! Good actor, fantastic looking, tall enough, can do suave but can also be physically aggressive. Not too hugely famous. I think he’d be perfect

The other candidates I dont rate at all:
Tom Hiddleston - lacks physical aggression
Tom Hardy - too much of the above/seems a bit thuggish
Jamie Bell - not good looking and scrawny
Henry Cavill - far too pretty
Richard Madden - doesnt seem imposing enough physically (like Jamie Bell)
James Norton - has a weird soft voice
Michael Fassbender - great actor, very attractive but always looks to me like he needs a bath!!

ScrambledSmegs · 18/03/2019 10:22

Riz Ahmed is way too pretty to be Bond. His eyes are huge, and you really don't want a Bond with eyes like pools you could drown in. You want someone who looks like he could shag you or headbutt you in a split second - or both.

Love Riz Ahmed but he's no thug.

Tinkerbell456 · 18/03/2019 10:24

Graham Norton. Adorable, do not mistake me but Bond? Not seeing it!

Idris Elba

keepforgettingmyusername · 18/03/2019 10:48

I'd LOVE Graham Norton to be cast as Bond Grin

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 18/03/2019 10:52

I wasn’t suggesting Graham Grin just that I thought of him when I saw James Norton.

Grin
IcedPurple · 18/03/2019 11:02

@CoraPirbright

Agree with your list. Tom Hiddleston is hot but he lacks that coldness to be Bond. Like I say, I think the next Bond will be a younger actor most of us have barely heard of.

"Michael Fassbender - great actor, very attractive but always looks to me like he needs a bath"

I'll wash him for you GrinGrinGrin

Hiddleston is too famous and too pretty.

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 18/03/2019 11:18

Luke Evans good be good, ruggedly handsome, not that famous, about the right age? Nice to have a Welsh Bond!

Ribbonsonabox · 18/03/2019 11:21

I think James Norton is a bit bland personally..
Tom Hiddleston might be interesting as it might be good to have a less physically intimidating bond, more suave etc... I'd watch that..
I like Idris a lot but I think he might be a bit too old...
Aiden Turner again I think is just a bit bland
Michael Fassbender would be very good i think
Jamie Bell would be interesting, I'd also watch that!

I think something new needs to be done with it so i wouldn't just want to see someone a bit like Daniel Craig doing it

elQuintoConyo · 18/03/2019 11:37

I second OP's vote for Nick Frost: "cafe au lait por vu" Grin

And swanking up to the toilette table in Monaco: "can I get any of you cunts another drink?"

I'd pay good money to watch that!

elQuintoConyo · 18/03/2019 11:38

Roulette table, godamnit!

HelloDarlin · 18/03/2019 11:44

Does he have to be British?
Mahershala Ali could visit Renee Zellweger’s voice coach...

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 18/03/2019 11:45

I think he does (Irish at a push), I think it would be pretty poor if they couldn't cast Bond from British talent.

DGRossetti · 18/03/2019 11:46

Does he have to be British?

I think the character does. The actor ... well it may be a controversial idea, but isn't that what acting is ?

MrsSpenserGregson · 18/03/2019 11:48

Sam Heughan definitely could play Bond ... swoon ....

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Kit Harrington yet. I suppose he's too famous? Right sort of age though.

Sean Bean should have been cast as Bond years ago, instead of playing 006 or whichever baddie it was he played. Missed a trick there.

showmethegin · 18/03/2019 11:51

Second @SoupDragon Chiwetel Ejifor would be amazing, very dapper!

WeepingWillowWeepingWino · 18/03/2019 11:55

I think that Britain should be able to provide the best actor for the part of a British cultural icon. Yes, it's acting but it's Bond.

musicinspring1 · 18/03/2019 12:08

Theo James !!!! Just read the thread and a previous poster mentioned him - yes !!! He was the poor guy that died in Lady Marys bed in Downton but then I watched him in some teen film ( Divergent ? Insurgent ??) and he was quite magnetic !
Him!

FuckertyBoo · 18/03/2019 12:09

I think that Britain should be able to provide the best actor for the part of a British cultural icon. Yes, it's acting but it's Bond.

I think Piers Brosnan is from Dundalk! So, not the uk and definitely not Britain.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 18/03/2019 12:12

Charlie Hunan is a really great shout; I always forget he is British.

Idris would be fantastic; charisma to burn.

Tom Hardy, hmm has a tendency to overact

Richard Madden is the safe choice.

Jamie Bell. I bloody love Jamie Bell I think he’s fantastically underrated and incredibly manly and physical. Not sure if he’s Bond though.

Aiden Turner and Cillian Murphy; to pretty and not British enough.
