Who should be the new James Bond.

I have started watching Turn Up Charlie. I think he would be great as Bond. Bit of a departure what with the East End accent and looking (struggling to say what I mean accurately here) . A bit rough around the edges looking rather than polished if you see what I mean. And yes. He is a non minger crush of mine😀! Or a woman. Suggestions?

I suppose they do tend to go for actors who are in their 30s. I'm struggling to think of any who would fit but I suppose they cut their films to fit the Bond.

Just don't let it be Matt Smith. That's all I ask.

My husband just suggested Mile Cyrus. I suspect he is not taking this quest seriously.

Has the right voice, the right face and could deal with the physical nature of the role. I can't imagine Idris jumping out of a helicopter and looking good doing it...sorry!

I think the reason the Bond franchise has come back to life was using a ruggedly good looking actor that is Daniel Craig and losing the smarmy charm of Roger Moore and Pearce Brosnan. Craig brought a gritty reality to Bond and it would be really sad to lose that.

Idris Elba is way too smarmy charmy, I agree with other PPs that it needs to be someone like Tom Hardy, Alexander Skarsgard or Richard Madden.

Idris Elba would have been good maybe 10 or 15 years ago, but as several posters have already said, he'd be pushing 50 by the time he made his first Bond film, which is simply too old.

Anyway, I would say it's more likely that they'll go for a not that well-known actor, like Daniel Craig was in the pre-Bond days. That pretty much rules out Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston and most of the others people are talking about. My guess is the next Bond will be someone many of us barely know about.
