To think Mrs Hinch should be more honest?

AIBU to think Mrs Hinch should be a bit more honest to her followers about her past? Rather than the likeable, albeit slightly ditty hairdresser she portrays herself to be, she was previously a successful sales person who worked in the City. Herself and her husband paid for articles in the National Press when the Hinch craze first started. He also calls her viewers “Shoppers” on her Insta feed. Nice.

I hate to say it but part of the appeal to me is that she’s so likely to get up the nose of a certain type of snobby mumsnetter.

We live in a world where we’re advertised at 24/7. Our data is harvested all the time. The idea that Mrs Hinch is some sort of existential danger is just hysterical and laughable.

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 18:31

Agree Benjamin. People don't like it when working class people do well. Especially if they are slim and attractive

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2019 18:34

She seems like a good laugh too, she doesn't take herself at all seriously.

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 18:35

Exactly. And if pe have cleaner houses as a result there's no harm done. If someone can cheer themselves up with a new cloth, so much the better. People sell much more expensive stuff on Instagram

tiredandcold · 21/03/2019 18:41

Well that's your opinion and I've got mine. Wouldn't the world be very boring if we all thought the same

LimeKiwi · 21/03/2019 18:41

She seems like a good laugh too
I agree, I like the way she takes the piss out of herself (like the other night mentioning she's had messages saying she's old before her time, to get out more etc - all said with a blue rinse granny do Snapchat type filter Grin )
She cheers me up, she seems to have a good sense of humour

Motherofcreek · 21/03/2019 18:45

A business women who is smashing it.

Well done Mrs H!

AdvancedAvoider · 21/03/2019 18:56

Sparkling I found her comments on the troll messages hilarious with that filter thing she did.

Sparklingbrook · 21/03/2019 19:02

Yes, me too Advanced. Grin

That's a bit rude to the OP of this thread.

If you think they are anything other than a genuine poster why not report them so MNHQ can investigate rather than troll hunting.

Hollowvictory · 22/03/2019 14:07

Tbf the op accused Mrs h of being dishonest with no evidence, its her choice to start the bloody thread!

PCohle · 22/03/2019 14:20

Yes but troll hunting is specifically against the MN talk guidelines, calling Instagram stars dishonest isn't.

AdvancedAvoider · 24/03/2019 08:39

Well she was certainly honest about the fact she's bought a tiny sewing machine.

No joke of a lie, I had water leaking from my eyes 😂

Skittlesss · 24/03/2019 08:44

Have you seen the thread on the FB where one person has said they’re hiding their shark collection in the wardrobe as their DH doesn’t know about it. People are coming out with their tales of deceit and congratulating each other for it (eg woman who keeps a red pen in her car to “mark down” clothing to tell her DH it cost £5 rather than £50).

AdvancedAvoider · 24/03/2019 08:51

Skittlesss is that on one of the Hinch army groups?

Skittlesss · 24/03/2019 09:00

Yeah it was on there last night. Quite concerning how they were applauding each other for hiding stuff from their OH. Even bottles of zoflora!

BorsetshireBlew · 24/03/2019 09:03

That sewing machine cost £15 on eBay! People deriding her for promoting sewing machines to make money through affiliate links, or encouraging people to spend money they can't afford or whatever it is are simply wrong on this. She's bought a crappy cheap tiny thing and nobody after seeing that will be rushing to buy it! And how much could she make from the link? 0.005p per click?

@quittinaeete omg I've just read that post... this is why I think she is far from harmless. She has such a hold
Over so many people. It's crazy

staydazzling · 26/03/2019 19:37

wow, the sense of entitlement and snobbery is reeking on here.

LimeKiwi · 26/03/2019 19:39

Agree @staydazzling, and the insinuation from the above poster with the link is vile.

staydazzling · 26/03/2019 19:51

Oh I can't see the link LimeKiwi I'm. assuming it was very unkind, Hmm
