To think Mrs Hinch should be more honest?

AIBU to think Mrs Hinch should be a bit more honest to her followers about her past? Rather than the likeable, albeit slightly ditty hairdresser she portrays herself to be, she was previously a successful sales person who worked in the City. Herself and her husband paid for articles in the National Press when the Hinch craze first started. He also calls her viewers “Shoppers” on her Insta feed. Nice.

What is nuts is the nation stockpiling countless cleaning products they will never use

I'm part of the Facebook group and it's hilarious

buzzbobbly · 21/03/2019 11:12

Facebook is awash with scabby little "hinch hampers" for Mother's Day.

nothing says "I love and value you Mum" like a tatty basket of of dish scrubbers and fucking Zoflora wrapped up with a bow Hmm

burritofan · 21/03/2019 11:12

Not everyone wants a ginormous house, think of all the extra cleaning you'd have to— wait...

Skittlesss · 21/03/2019 12:01

We need a secret “mumsnet signal” for the FB group Grin

KittyVonCatsington · 21/03/2019 12:40

She is the Zoella for adults. Scary stuff.

MorningsEleven · 21/03/2019 12:45

If I get a six pack of zoflora and a squeegee for mother's day I'll spang the kids a la Pauline Fowler. Mrs Hinch can get tae fuck.

quittinaeete · 21/03/2019 15:22

She's already made a fortune with 10 affiliate links every day and a book deal that paid her an advance of 250k. She didn't do this on her own though, cleverly crafted

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 15:44

Cleverly crafted by whom

tiredandcold · 21/03/2019 17:49

When I say she's a phoney and a dangerous one at that, I mean she isn't genuine. Anything she doesn't/ buys is centred around her influencing others to buy and maximising profit, without being upfront and honest.
If she had said 'I've been sent this seeing machine to give it a whirl, not sure if I can use it but would love to learn' then I would have more respect for her.
The dangerous element is encouraging her followers to waste money in purchasing all this unnecessary crap.
She goes to home bargains and the like several times a week. And her hinch jails are pure shite. It's the equivalent to kids taking money to the sweet shop and buying a load of crap.
It's dangerous because people will be spending all this unnecessary money on fucking zoflora and weird overpriced cloths, so that they can wipe their coolers and hash tag the fuck out of it.
And not sewing machines... god knows how much they cost!

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 17:52

If some buys a new dishcloth, that's not dangerous. 🙄

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 17:53

Zoflora is £1. So dangerous... 😂💷

Jinglejanglefish · 21/03/2019 17:54

I don't get it. I just looked at her Instagram and it's just pics of some tacky as hell house.

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 17:56

Jingle did you watch the stories?
Show is some. Pics of your house?

LimeKiwi · 21/03/2019 17:58

Scabby little Hinch hampers for Mother's Day
Wow. You know some people actually like that stuff, right?!
You don't have to buy it lol, bit off to put down others likes if they do.
Same with the sewing machine. She's literally just said she wants to have a go with one, hardly makes her a dangerous phoney lol Grin

LimeKiwi · 21/03/2019 17:59

Jinglejangle - it's the stories, not just pics that people like.
Kind of like watching telly but on Instagram Smile

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 18:00

Pure jealousy.
Op you know you could post on Instagram right? See how easy it is to get 2m followers....

Jinglejanglefish · 21/03/2019 18:06

My house is lovely actually but I've no desire to post pics of it on the internet, which doesn't change the fact her house is tacky as hell.

tiredandcold · 21/03/2019 18:06

@Hollowvictory it's dangerous for those who can ill afford these hauls, but are sucked in by misleading, cleverly crafted subliminal advertising techniques.
And it's more than a cloth and a £1bottle of zoflora. But I guess you already knew that

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 18:07

But they could be 'sucked in' by any advertising anywhere?!! Give people a little credit the majority of people are not idiots and don't go bankruptcy buying scourers

LimeKiwi · 21/03/2019 18:11

My house is lovely actually

Well, you would say that, wouldn't you Grin
Pics, as we need to be the judge of that lol

MsRabbitRocks · 21/03/2019 18:12

If some buys a new dishcloth that’s not dangerous

But it’s not just one dishcloth is it? It’s obsessing over buying in bulk that really isn’t healthy behaviour.

Zoflora is £1. So dangerous...
And thanks to her, entire shelves are being cleared so the once £1 Zoflora has now gone up in price. Not only at the supermarket but also people selling for over inflated prices on eBay. And hoarding that much flammable Zoflora must be a fire risk, as well as spraying it over every possible surface, can’t be exactly safe for the lungs or skin.

see how easy it is to get 2m followers
Made much easier by heavily advertising on existing specific Facebook groups and by paying for articles in the national news...

ethelfleda · 21/03/2019 18:13

The media isn't "fair" op. Did you just realise this? People lie, embroider and illustrate ALL the time. To make money

This!
Who cares about her background? We live in a culture where people become celebrities via social media and she has found a way to leverage that to her advantage. Good for her. I don’t see any need for her to start being ‘honest’ (although she hasn’t lied, has she?)

LimeKiwi · 21/03/2019 18:14

and don't go bankrupt buying scourers
Grin
That's the daft bit lol, they're bloody scourers and Zoflora etc ffs.
As in Zoflora, 69p, even the pink stuff only 99p.
Uses affordable stuff. Unlike those who use designer or expensive stuff on their Instagram.

Hollowvictory · 21/03/2019 18:15

Which article has she paid for? Link please

ethelfleda · 21/03/2019 18:16

Did some of you also think that the smiley lady on the febreeze adverts isn’t an actress? Should she be more ‘honest’ about what she is doing?
Or that annoying woman on the oral b ad?
Do we all think that advertising in all forms is completely honest?
