Hi
DH flew to European city today with work. Not too unusual to happen but some things have got me thinking.

  1. He bought new trainers, coat and had hair cut yesterday.
  2. He text me to say not to tag him on FB as some people at work were saying this trip was a jolly. (I rarely post on FB and probably tag him about 2/3 times a year for holiday photos so this seemed really odd request).
  3. I missed a call from him so rang back from my mobile. His number is saved without the international dialling numbers in my phone and it rang as normal..ie not the abroad ring tone I was expecting. Does this mean that he isn't on mainland Europe?
I said I woukd call back. Is there a way of doing this that means I could establish where he is? Hope that makes sense. TIA

The reverse photo search is reverse.photos/

Always good for making sure a picture is real or lifted from Google

squee123 · 14/03/2019 21:10

he could actually be up to no good abroad and doesn't want you tagging him because he has spun the OW some line about you having broken up/ having a loveless marriage. Plenty of men I know via work take their OW on work trips

ReggieWoo · 14/03/2019 21:11

The ring tone is different if DH isn't in the Uk when I phone him.

IndieTara · 14/03/2019 21:12

Good luck op

Hillaria · 14/03/2019 21:15

I can't believe anyone would be keen to have an affair with a man who wears trainers, so you may not need to worry, OP.

That aside, I don't have a smartphone, and neither does my DP. However, I do know that when he's abroad, his mobile makes an 'abroad' ringing tone when I ring him (I lived abroad for years, so know what these sound like). I'm on Tesco and he's on EE, if that's any use.

HeronLanyon · 14/03/2019 21:25

hillaria Hilario.
As for reverse google search. Just tried it. Massive fail. May need to work out quite now it works but be very careful basing anything on what it throws up ! In fact can’t see the point from my initial usage.

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 14/03/2019 21:28

Op if he is cheating and you are asking questions he maybe worried you are on to him. So he could have checked the delayed flight.
Also why was he so keen to check you have the photos that seems odd.

Alabasterangel6 · 14/03/2019 21:31

Have you thought about his work email? If I was going on a work trip, my work email would be ‘I’m overseas at a conference and will be back in the office on Monday’. Very different to holiday which would be ‘I am on annual leave until 17th’ etc.

Set up an unknown one off email add, send a blank email to his work add and see what out of office you get back?!

goldpendant · 14/03/2019 21:31

I smell a bit of a rat here OP

DH was due off on a business trip a few years ago, he was a bit shady about details before he went, but at the 11th hour it got cancelled because one of the MD's got wind that it had turned into a bit not an opportunistic jolly and certain people had been invited that needn't be there (including a woman I was highly suspicious with DH about).

I'm glad it got cancelled of course but I've always wondered what could have happened.

jjandtheseagulls · 14/03/2019 21:40

FaceTime him?

TORDEVAN · 14/03/2019 21:47

I would totally tag him in a post about how much I miss him when he’s on business trips - if he’s being honest there’s literally no reason for that to annoy / upset him, colleagues thinking his work trip is a jolly has no bearing on you missing him does it? If he reacts badly I’d ask for a reason why.

I would do this

MakeLemonade · 14/03/2019 21:56

Can you get someone to call his work and ask for him? They’ll either say he’s away on business, annual leave or be non specific. If they don’t specify, then they could ask a follow up - Is Mr X working? If so I’ll call his mobile but don’t want to trouble him if he’s on holiday.

Plastictattoo · 14/03/2019 22:01

Out of office isn't on but that's no surprise as he's always checking emails.
He's replied to texts I've sent tonight so that and the delayed flight have reassured me somewhat but will try to get hold of his phone for a snoop at weekend..

Is the hotel number direct to his room? To save money some large international chains route international calls over their own data networks so that calls will come out as local numbers. Eg. If he was in Germany then the hotel would route the call via their own network (or internet) to the uk and it'd be dialled from within the uk so you'd see it as originating from a uk number.

Has he told you the hotel he's staying in? If so try ringing their reception and asking for him.

LonelyDadNeedsHelp · 14/03/2019 22:10

@carrotflinger

It really is to do with call forwarding to voicemail:
www.quora.com/What-does-it-mean-for-conditional-call-forwarding-to-be-active

There's absolutely no way your phone can know where another phone is.

ivykaty44 · 14/03/2019 22:12

I’ve just phoned my dad abroad on his mobile to see if it sounded different- it doesn’t

carrotflinger · 14/03/2019 22:15

@LonelyDadNeedsHelp

Why does the person pick up then??
Don't understand this at all!

Thadeus · 14/03/2019 22:17

What phone does he have?

notapizzaeater · 14/03/2019 22:20

Can you not FaceTime him off one of the kids phones ?

Thadeus · 14/03/2019 22:22

If your child has an iPhone you can see where your husband is really easily.

LonelyDadNeedsHelp · 14/03/2019 22:28

@carrotflinger, they pickup because the call is connected. The caller's phone doesn't need to know where the other phone is, that's handled by the phone networks.

You said: "call forwarding active" while it is connecting to the other phone.

If it's not even connected at that point your phone couldn't know whether the other phone is switched on or whether it's a valid number, let alone know what country it's in.

ReggieWoo · 14/03/2019 22:51

@Thadeus isn't that only if they have find my friend?

ineedtostopbeingsolazy · 14/03/2019 22:59

Do you have access to his phone bills? Because when I'm abroad/roaming and I send texts my bills don't show the number texted it shows a message centre number. I'm on o2 so don't know if all providers do this but if yours does it will show he's text from abroad.

MRex · 14/03/2019 23:21

If you save the photos and in your gallery check details then it'll tell you the make of camera it was taken with, and location if he has location turned on.

newmun · 14/03/2019 23:34

Hope its all good OP! X
