How can anyone have an ounce of respect for Corbyn

The man is a snake. We all know he’s a Brexiteer, so why not just come out and say it? This man has no principles - he’s purely concerned with getting into No 10 and there is no low he won’t sink to in order to get there. He’s spent years heckling from the sidelines, but it’s all smoke and mirrors to detract from the fact that he has nothing of any substance to offer on any area of policy-making, let alone the Brexit shambles. The man is an utter joke.

Surely his days are numbered now, as are TM’s and the all the other Brexiteers who put their careers in front of their principles?

she needs to go immediately and we need a GE asap.

I disagree because if that happened the the PLP will be blamed for the shit show that is Brexit, let the Tories own their own mess

I would love to vote Labour but I cannot vote for a party led by a misogynist. His pretence that there is no difference between men and women is damaging to women’s interests.
I am also not keen on the Anti-Semitism and his support for the IRA, PLO and Chavez.

feel free to provide the link if all its going to take is a quick google

but you choose not to answer the fact that you want to change what he says to then point him out as being anti semitic smells of desperation these days.

Do I believe those who say they have suffered anti semetic abuse? Yes

Do I believe it has all come from Labour members I'd love to see some evidence of that

Just saying I'm a Labour member/supporter before insulting someone does not in fact make it true

I can't see how a general election will resolve this now, especially if labour run on a 'we'll get a better brexit deal than THEM' ticket and not an immediate new referendum...

JC probably fancies his chances of getting in as resolving brexit never has been his priority.

I take it you wont be voting for any of the uk political parties then? Even the Women's equality party is toeing the definition of women line, regardless of whether it is correct or not

How do you feel about the conservatives support for the UDF, pinochet, not trying to do the whole what-aboutery thing just that sometimes people do some dumb shit

It isn't exactly hard to find and would be a really strange thing for someone to make up when it's so easily verified www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-corbyn-zionists-speech-english-irony-reports-parliamentary-standards-antisemitism-a8507196.html

Independent link used although no doubt that's another Right Wing! Blairite! Tory! MSM! Biased! source. Nevertheless, it is Jeremy Corbyn on camera who is saying such an appallingly racist thing.

Report
JustAnotherPoster00 · 13/03/2019 14:08

Mr Corbyn nonetheless stood behind the comments, insisting that he was referring to a specific group of “pro-Israel activists” and had not used the term Zionist as a “euphemism” for the Jewish community.

Not sure if you had missed that bit

Alltheprettyseahorses · 13/03/2019 14:21

I saw his excuse. Which does lead me to wonder why he didn't use their individual names rather than as a group, as I said in my original post. Again, replace 'Zionist' with any other minority you choose. It is racism.

Thats ridiculous if you change the words in anyones speech you can make them say anything you want but hey if its your feelz that Corbyn is racist never mind the anti apartheid and the pro palestinian stuff he does the it is what it is and I doubt anything will change your mind on that so meh

Report
downcasteyes · 13/03/2019 14:31

'Zionist' is not a synonym for 'Jewish'. I am Jewish but anti-Zionist.

Report
Alltheprettyseahorses · 13/03/2019 14:36

We are not just randomly changing words here. We are replacing one minority group with another, exactly like-for-like. Yet again, even though St Jezza said it (St Jezza who apparently fights so much for whatever cause you care to name, true or not, but has never actually achieved any good for anything) it is still racism.

Disagree with everything in your post OP. If he’s a Brexiteer it’s odd how it was the arguments he presented in 2016 that persuaded this potential Leaver (and other arguers for Leave in my family) to vote Remain. And it’s also odd that depending on who you listen to he’s either got only principles and no real desire to be PM, or (as you contend) burning ambition and no principles at all.

As far as not fighting to ‘stop Brexit’ or whatever it is you think he should actually DO (amid all the mudslinging insults, I’m really not sure) – do you believe the EU referendum to have been illegitimate? Do you think it would be a good idea for Mr Corbyn to try to over-turn that result because you personally disagree with it? Do you think you can just abandon democratic principles because the result went the ‘wrong way’ as you see it? Because if you do think that you’re not really in position to talk about anyone’s lack of principles, are you?

downcasteyes That's true, although I don't see the point of anti-Zionism myself because Israel has as much right to exist as a state as eg any of the 22 Arab states in the area. However, in the anti-Semitic groups (including those Corbyn has associated with) they may say Zionist but it is obvious what they mean.

there will be far less to go round than during the current time of austerity which, unless you've forgotten, is a result of economic mismanagement by the last Labour government

But it wasn't. Even economic experts say it wasn't, ....but just keep reading the propaganda and bullshit.

Time for him to go back to tending his courgettes on his allotment

The typical kind of glib comment that tells you someone has no real idea who Jeremy Corbyn is.

The EU prefer Corbyn over May for EU negotiations and a Norway deal keeps everyone happy ( ish) as compromises will be needed to keep the people of these isles from ripping each other apart.

I do wonder how many Tory bots there are on Mumsnet sometimes...

I've left the Labour Party because of him. I didn't vote for him in the leadership vote. He's so out of touch with everything. I can't stand his sneering.

Yep I'm pretty sure he's pro Brexit but was following the party decision to campaign for remain.

Or should party leaders just completely disregard the majority of their party members and do what the hell they like?

Just like May.

Context is everything. I doubt Corbyn meant men and women are the same in EVERY aspect ffs!
He is not anti Semitic and you would know that if you knew enough about him.
Corbyn spoke to all of the group's you mention. You can have understanding for a cause without supporting methods.
I hope you also condemn the politicians on the right wing for doing deals with murderous regimes?
Not understanding what creates the likes of the IRA or PLO is part of the problem.

JustAnotherPoster00 Corbyn made a blatantly racist comment, caught on camera. He has a history of associating with Jew-haters who call for the death of Jewish people and the annihilation of Israel. There is no ambiguity here.

Mistlewoeandwhine Corbyn wasn't part of the peace talks. His one association was accompanying Livingstone to speak to a Maze prisoner. Mowlam stood up in parliament and publicly castigated Corbyn for his behaviour which threatened the stability, safety and progress of the talks (source: Hansard).

There's a problem here with the amount of easily discredited pro-Corbyn propaganda being spread. If you want to like him, go ahead. But don't do it based on easily disproven lies; do it honestly as the man he is not the man you want him to be.

He's so out of touch with everything

Is he really?

Re-nationalising the rail and energy companies, ending the chosen political ideology of austerity, funding a national education service, funding the NHS, police and childrens services.

Its a hell of a thing when a Labour leader plans to fund the police better than the conservatives who are normally regarded as the party of police and punishment

Yup youre right so out of touch Hmm
