How can anyone have an ounce of respect for Corbyn

The man is a snake. We all know he’s a Brexiteer, so why not just come out and say it? This man has no principles - he’s purely concerned with getting into No 10 and there is no low he won’t sink to in order to get there. He’s spent years heckling from the sidelines, but it’s all smoke and mirrors to detract from the fact that he has nothing of any substance to offer on any area of policy-making, let alone the Brexit shambles. The man is an utter joke.

Surely his days are numbered now, as are TM’s and the all the other Brexiteers who put their careers in front of their principles?

It takes 2 to make a relationship work.

It does, but he has a history of not being able to make any work so either he doesn't work at it, he is making poor choices or is making the same mistakes over and over again.

On the other hand you could argue that he isn't prepared to make something work that doesn't, is uncompromising and is able to decide to cut his losses and spend his energy on other things. However there doesn't really seem to be any evidence for that argument either.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 13/03/2019 13:15

So...the Tory party triggered the referendum. The Tories lied to the public ( big bus anyone?) and the Tories have always had the power to ignore the referendum results BUT it is all the fault of the leader of of the opposition- who can’t do anything because they are not in power?

Catch a grip.

Under Corbyn we can keep the NHS safe, we can nationwide public transport, we can stop the richest companies shafting us by not paying tax. And anti Semitic and anti Zionist are two very different things.

Look around you. People are dying on the streets, people are feeding their kids from food banks and schools can’t afford to educate kids. Unless you are in the 1% you can’t afford NOT to support Corbyn.

dadshere · 13/03/2019 13:16

Yawn yawn. Another disaster day for May and the Tories, another thread trashing Corbyn. It is almost as if they are connected. Corbyn is a man of principle, and will soon be the PM, despite the aims of a small number of people doing their best to stop it.

Teresa May is a remainer. What are you on about?

Well, no. A true remainer would and could have junked the referendum result perfectly credibly on the basis of the evidence of multiple fraud in the Leave campaign that has come out. Instead May clings on to it like grim death. That doesn't necessarily make her a Brexiter, I suspect what it makes her is someone who is putting her personal career and the interests of her friends ahead of everything else.

UnspiritualHome · 13/03/2019 13:22

What really annoys me is Corbyn's failure to take advantage of the multiple open goals the Conservatives have been presenting. They are very vulnerable in terms of their appalling record on the NHS, education, the justice system and social care. That record has been allowed to be obscured by Brexit, which presents the most open goal of all. Yet Corbyn has in effect spent two years helping the Tories defend that goal. An opposition leader who was doing his job properly would, as an absolute minimum, have a massive lead in the polls now which in itself would have a very salutary effect on Conservative policies.

Jsmith99 · 13/03/2019 13:26

@Unspiritual I agree completely. Corbyn is entirely useless, as well as being wrong about Brexit.

downcasteyes · 13/03/2019 13:27

I like him. And his policies.

Sol44 · 13/03/2019 13:28

This thread is not an attempt to disguise the probable collapse of TM’s govt. That is in blatant evidence for all to see. But even in the case of the ultra-hideous such as JRM and all in her party - at least they are prepared to make their position clear, however much you might disagree with it. JC did nothing except mooch around like a sullen git for the entire referendum campaign. He is the leader of the opposition fgs! What a wasted opportunity Labour have in him.

Corbyn has made the Labour Party the biggest political party in Europe. I joined only because of him as did many others.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 13/03/2019 13:32

What really annoys me is Corbyn's failure to take advantage of the multiple open goals the Conservatives have been presenting.

Theres been a few humdingers hes missed for sure which is irritating

I hate the false narrative that fans of Corbyn cant see his faults, we do but we also know that right now he's what the PLP needs, hes already shifted the overton window in the PLP more to the left instead of the Tory light policies the PLP were trying to push before he became leader, I think if the PLP had started singing from the same hymn sheet after the second leadership contest we would be a damn sight further ahead in the polls, Corbyn has blame in this as does the right of the PLP let alone the pure disinformation campaign that has been run by all media outlets including our own unbiased lmfao to infinity HAHAHAHA!!!!!! public broadcaster the BBC that has become worryingly the propaganda mouthpiece of the current government

Bloomburger · 13/03/2019 13:32

I despair of anyone on here wittering on about people dying on the streets and kids being fed from food banks thinking it's going to be better under Corbyn. Get a grip, really, his policies will cripple our economy and there will be far less to go round than during the current time of austerity which, unless you've forgotten, is a result of economic mismanagement by the last Labour government.

RomanyQueen1 · 13/03/2019 13:32

Quite easily when you look at the opposition, I mean come on, Conservatives = conserve the assets of the rich, sod the poor, and lets face it there's no other party.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 13/03/2019 13:34

unless you've forgotten, is a result of economic mismanagement by the last Labour government.

and yet remarkably there was far less food banks and homelessness in 2010!

RomanyQueen1 · 13/03/2019 13:35

Unspiritual

Believe me, TM or any other politician isn't a remainer, it's why we're leaving. It was a put up job and most are too thick to realise it.
I think the Beeb should commission a new Yes Minister, that was so realistic. Grin

JustAnotherPoster00 · 13/03/2019 13:35

BINGO!!!!!!!

Get a grip, really, his policies will cripple our economy and there will be far less to go round than during the current time of austerity which, unless you've forgotten, is a result of economic mismanagement by the last Labour government.

Can you explain using links if needed how the previous Labour government caused/facilitated a GLOBAL financial crisis

paddlingwhenIshouldbeworking · 13/03/2019 13:36

I don't think anyone here is missing the faults of the Tories, its a bloody nightmare. The problem is Corbyn is not offering an opposition.

This also transcends Brexit, that's a cross party, cross country fuck up. My concerns are health, education, law and order.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 13/03/2019 13:36

Re Corbyn's anti-Semitism.

Corbyn was an invisible backbencher until 2015. Most people had never heard of him and he didn't really perform his job very well. Yet somehow he was actually videoed saying about 3 British people who were in the room at the time 'Zionists don't understand English irony'. Not 'Rod Jane and Freddie don't understand English irony' but these faceless inhuman Others defined only by their ethnicity and religious beliefs. If you somehow can't see the racism in that replace 'Zionist' (Jewish really) with any other ethnicity. Vile.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 13/03/2019 13:39

Alltheprettyseahorses

Citation needed or it didnt happen

If you change Zionist to Jew? So if you change what he said then hes def an anti-semite umm that makes sense Hmm

proudestofmums · 13/03/2019 13:48

These are the politicians I respect -

Er...

Firstworddinosaur · 13/03/2019 13:49

I think he's great and have massive respect for him. I loved the Labour manifesto at the last election.

Batsypatsy · 13/03/2019 13:49

Unfortunately the media are influencing people. I don't believe a word I read in the papers these days because the ones criticising JC are mainly Tory funded. I was impressed by him during the last GE. He seems to be one of the few politicians in it for the right reasons and not for personal (financial) gain. I voted Remain and am still hoping for a second referendum because at the first referendum we were lied to and I hope knowing the truth will affect people's decisions now. However, the government is a shambles and I cannot believe TM is getting away with what she's been doing all this time, she needs to go immediately and we need a GE asap.

IamEarthymama · 13/03/2019 13:50

I want to see the austerity agenda that has led to people dying on the street, abolished
Ok they aren’t people who will post on MN but they are people who, in one of the richest countries in Earth, do not deserve to be ignored and neglected
Schools in crisis, closing on Friday afternoon as they can’t pay teachers, mental health services, especially for young people, virtually non-existent, teachers in danger of being made homeless, I could go on for hours
Labour under Corbyn and McDonnell have a manifesto that can change this collision course with poverty and death for so many people.
I don’t agree with Labour on GC issues but the cognitive dissonance is worth it.
I was brought up benefitting hugely under the Welfare State and I want the same for generations to come

As for he negotiated with Hamas and Irish leaders
How the hell to you think negotiations work?

BloggersNet · 13/03/2019 13:51

I like a lot of labour's policies and would be happy with a labour government. With or without corbyn.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 13/03/2019 13:52

JustAnotherPoster00 Corbyn was videoed saying it - I said that in my post. It was on the news. A quick google will bring up footage if you really think I've make it up.
