I can feel the mood among Remainers, both IRL and online changing.

They are worried about access to elementary education, a safe affordable place to live and 3 square meals a day.

Did you think that voting leave would actually help those children?

Because a tanking economy, reduced tax revenue, potential shortages in food and medicine tends not to help the poorest y’know.

Theworldisfullofgs · 12/03/2019 21:56

Fucking furious.
Particularly as school governor looking at budgets and someone who works with public services. Waste of time, money and focus. Brexit is a distraction from things that actually matter.

Pumperthepumper · 12/03/2019 21:56

Just like the fact you deliberately misunderstood a pp then refused to admit it? I do have an issue with people refusing to admit facts, yes. Not opinion, facts. You’re more than welcome to stop addressing posts to me.

Lepetitpiggy · 12/03/2019 22:00

I'm sad that I have found out how incredibly naive (would say thick but best not) some people still are. BIL still thinks it's about 'sending them back' and spouts such tommeh bollocks on fb that I've had to tell dh that I simply can't have any more to do with him.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 22:01

Pumper, you are like a dog with a bone! I understood a comment in response to me from another poster differently than you did. What does it matter to you? It wasn't even your post! Whether you'll admit it or not, it's about kicking me as leaver.

DarkAtEndOfTunnel · 12/03/2019 22:01

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld

I agree entirely with your call for change by the way. It is easy for those who have and have always had, and know nothing else, to complain about 'spite and envy' when it is not them watching their children cry for lack of food while the upper classes whine about being forced to choose between a foreign holiday and doing their kitchen up.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 22:02

Laurie, that's not what I wrote and you know it, but being in the EU hasn't helped them either, that was my point.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 22:02

Thanks Dark

Pumperthepumper · 12/03/2019 22:04

As I said, Just feel free to stop addressing posts to me - but don’t spout even more nonsense at me and expect me not to reply. More the fact that you were immediately antagonistic to a pp for absolutely no reason at all, then expected to be taken seriously about anything else. And also I’m a bully for pointing it out.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 22:06

Seriously now, just leave it! You are the one spouting nonsense and with a point to score, Mama doesn't need a lap dog, I'm sure.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 12/03/2019 22:06

I'm angry and steadily becoming an ex Unionist. Dh (who is a fun mix of Irish/Scottish and Eastern European) reached that point considerably faster being on the receiving end of all sorts of rubbish about Scotland/Ireland/NI and Eastern Europe on our post Brexit referendum trips to England. We were told that rebuilding Hadrian's wall and telling the "Scotch" to F off should be the Government's next policy post March 29th by more than one person...

The situation is not helped by the fact that Dh's Grandfather was killed in the troubles, the repercussions of which are still felt in his family several decades later so the GFA is pretty important to him too.

ClownpantsKate · 12/03/2019 22:08

What annoys me is that the leavers expected the Brexit Fairy to sort it all out for them.

Pumperthepumper · 12/03/2019 22:08

So, stop.

wherearemychickens · 12/03/2019 22:08

I am angry now. I was shocked to start with, then dismayed after May's Lancaster House speech. As she has bulldozed on and on and on with lies, and lies, and lies about reality, and the truth of our position, and failed to face up to the fact she's made contradictory red lines, I've got more and more angry.

You cannot both a) leave the single market and customs union and b) maintain the Good Friday Agreement with no hard border in Ireland. The two are incompatible.

SciFiRules · 12/03/2019 22:08

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld,
I think you will find being in the EU has been helping you and your sons, but you won't appreciate that until you see your suffering increasing along with everyone else's. The EU has proved to be a steading hand to prevent the worst of the tory excesses. It's promoted ease of trade and and stability. To throw this away in an act of temper is ridiculous.

MamaLovesMango · 12/03/2019 22:08

Lol [hmmm] try living a day in my life before condemning me for being sick of the handwringing re the mere possibility of it.

ODFOD this race to the bottom is deameaning. You have no idea who’s behind any of these posts. As a child, I lived next door to a a lady so hopeless from the shithole tower block we lived in, no decent employment, not being able to support her kids, a bleak, bleak future, that she put her head in the gas oven without realising she had no money on the metre. True story. This was in London and one of the most deprived areas of the U.K. you talk about stereotypes, you’ve been bleating them all over your posts about ‘the south’ and ‘well fuck off abd leace tge coubtry if you don’t like it’ bullshit.

It was a dangerous game and a completely one sided one at that. You think they use the EU as excuse? Wait until you hear all the 100s of others of excuses they’ve got up their sleeve, just waiting to trot out when there’s no EU to blame. You’ve been well and truly had.

Do I look down my nose at those that voted leave? No, I don’t. I just feel dispair and disbelief instead. Almost pity.

NorthernRunner · 12/03/2019 22:10

I’m still angry but I’m also confused and anxious.

What’s going to happen now? Surely May has to resign. Did anyone see her talk in parliament earlier today? She looked awful. The whole charade has been a farce and we must look like right idiots to the rest of the EU.

I am hoping for a miracle and we somehow stay. It frustrates me how people cannot see that leaving would not make anything better.

LaurieMarlow · 12/03/2019 22:11

but being in the EU hasn't helped them either, that was my point.

So their if disadvantage has little to do with our EU status (which is what you seem to be saying) why is it relevant to this discussion?

Successive governments have failed many people in the UK. Fact. Voting to leave the EU won’t remedy that in any way.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 22:11

Mama, you really have no clue. I don't think I have a monoply on the shit life, but you seem to think you can tell me how much I should take for the benefit of others. I was offered I chance to vote for change and I grabbed it. You chose to maintain the status quo. If that's working for you, lovely. It really isn't for me.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 22:12

You do look down your nose, just own it. If you didn't you and pumper for some reason would not be so defensive re my posts.

MamaLovesMango · 12/03/2019 22:13

It isn’t working for me. It isn’t working for anybody but the change needs to come from somewhere else because the EU isnt the problem.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 22:13

Laurie, it will gett rid of their whipping boy.

SciFiRules · 12/03/2019 22:13

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld,
The change you voted for was a negative change. The EU is not to blame for the issues you are experiencing. Why would you cut your nose off to spite your face?

DippyAvocado · 12/03/2019 22:14

There is the perfect opportunity to channel your anger on Saturday 23rd March, Park Lane, London!

LaurieMarlow · 12/03/2019 22:15

i believe that the EU are forcing the country to take in more migrants when we are struggling to house, educate, feed & provide healthcare for the people born here.

EU immigrants are net contributors in the UK. We’ll miss their tax revenue when they’re gone.
