I can feel the mood among Remainers, both IRL and online changing.

Where did I say you will be poorer if I left the country?

It’s not a choice for me, that’s the point. I’d actually personally be somewhat worse off, my kids wouldn’t. The reason I’m considering it is because of other’s misguided and naive decisions.

I don’t know if reading comprehension is your strong point but I’m angry at the government not the people that voted leave (racist wingnuts aside but for a different reason). They were lead up the garden path, that’s not necessarily their fault.

Pumperthepumper · 12/03/2019 21:16

My positve Brexit outcome is that the gov. will stop having a smoke screen to hide behind with regard to the impact of their domestic policies on areas like mine. Also I'm quite happy that people in the South might taste a bit of what we have been dealing with for decades to be honest. (You asked, before you flame me)

What? What does that have to do with Europe?

I'm still monumentally angry that lies and obfuscation meant that the leave vote happened.

A reality check for then. They didn’t give a shit about any of that before Brexit. They’re not going to give a shit about it after either. Your issue isn’t the EU, it’s the people right here. They don’t care about people like you (or me!). I’m from a deprived area too btw (in the south, in London no less. Now who’s stereotyping...) Nothing will change until these self serving pieces of shit are removed from government.

Silvercatowner · 12/03/2019 21:20

The stereotyping was that all leavers were/are racists and anti immigration

I don't think this. I do think all the racists voted leave though.

Hamsternauts · 12/03/2019 21:20

Does the most angry side win? Is this a war of Anger? Mad wins? We really are chimpanzees.
One thing I deffo didn't vote for was an Angry contest. Pfffft.
Tough luck you've got one you brainless idiot.

LunafortJest · 12/03/2019 21:20

@Imustbemad00 Politics affects everything we do in life. From the moment we wake up every day, to night. Working, tax, tax on food, roads, hospitals, education, medicine - EVERYTHING. Voting should be a duty everyone who lives in a society should do. Als, low in come earners are going to be the ones MOST HIT. So, you of all people, should be caring.

"People like me are either overlooked or shit on so I’ve never bothered."
All the MORE REASON you should be bothered voting. People like you are overlooked and shit on because you let it happen. You stand by and let them do it. By not voting, by not taking part in society, you are allowing them to treat you like shit. Nothing will change if you don't take a stand. If you don't care enough about your own situation to take a stand, why would they care? After all, you just accept being treated like shit. You are complicit in your treatment.

PiebaldHamster · 12/03/2019 21:21

Mrs May is also T1, unless she's suicidal I hope she will have given this some thought. I'm T1 too, and I have about six months' of insulin in the fridge

She's a Tory, she will have given FA thought to anyone but herself and her rich cronies. You really think she's going to be the one who goes without because of this? They are all multimillionaires with all their money abroad. They don't give a fuck about 'the people'.

It's like how David Scameron pretended to be about supporting disabled children when he had a £60k/annum nanny and then ramroded in that fucking PIP and ESA. Cunt.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 21:21

For what feels like the 1000th time since I joined this site. I feel that the successive PMs have abused the misunderstand of the role and structure of the EU to pass the buck, re domestic policies and there effects. They've also used it to abdicate their lack of funding for and investment in post industrial areas, they say 'oh there's EU funding for that, all you need do is apply.' This ignores the difficulties that areas can have in making applications. If we are no long members of the EU, they won't be able to do this anymore and the blame will lie at their feet, where it belongs IMO.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 12/03/2019 21:22

I don't think this. I do think all the racists voted leave though

No they didnt MIL and FIL voted remain

Accountant222 · 12/03/2019 21:22

Do you not think they have been angry and getting angrier since the result didn't go their way? I suppose had the result been different the other side would have been angry also.

MamaLovesMango · 12/03/2019 21:22

You obviously don’t though because I just wrote the same post in different words Hmm Remove the chip. It’s pointless.

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 21:23

misunderstanding

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 12/03/2019 21:23

I agree just

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 21:24

I have no chip Mama, you just don't like being called out on the meaning of what you have written, you look down on people who voted leave, own it.

TheWomanin12B · 12/03/2019 21:26

StarLunafortJest. Couldn't agree more.

Silvercatowner · 12/03/2019 21:26

I do think all the racists voted leave though

No they didnt MIL and FIL voted remain

I think all the racists apart from @Rufusthebewilderedreindeer's MIL and FIL voted leave

MamaLovesMango · 12/03/2019 21:27

If we are no long members of the EU, they won't be able to do this anymore and the blame will lie at their feet, where it belongs IMO.

I agree with this to a certain extent but it’s a dangerous game to play.

surferjet · 12/03/2019 21:27

I don't think this. I do think all the racists voted leave though

Like there isn’t a single racist amongst the 16,141,241 people who voted remain.

Honestly, the shite some remainers come out with.

Unfinishedkitchen · 12/03/2019 21:27

And justtheretogiveview finally admits what this was all about. The politics of spite and envy. Instead of trying to make her life better, her intention is to make people in the south’s life worse (as if everyone in the south is richer than everyone in the north) as some sort of weird revenge.

What she doesn’t appear to realise is that everyone will become poorer than they currently are. Therefore the rich southerner may have to switch from Waitrose to Asda but the poor northerner switches from Asda to the food bank.

Very depressing reading. There is a substantial number of negative people in this country with crabs in a barrel mentality.

Pumperthepumper · 12/03/2019 21:28

I definitely look down on people who voted leave but that doesn’t change the fact that you misunderstood Mama’s post and you’ve made yourself look a bit of a dick by insisting you haven’t.

Your positive Brexit outcome makes sense but it still seems a weird reason to give up on so much - basically shooting yourself in the foot to teach the tories a lesson? Are you in Scotland?

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 12/03/2019 21:28

silver Grin

LunafortJest · 12/03/2019 21:29

@Nat6999
"while homeless numbers are rising, crime is rising, education is suffering, children with special educational needs aren't getting the help they need, teachers are leaving in droves. It's disgusting that in this day & age we have so many people sleeping on the streets, working people are having to use foodbanks, it's the 21st century for God's sake."
And yet you voted to leave??? Which means the richer get richer, the poor get poorer and all of those things above will become much worse? Leaving hurts the poor and only benefits the elite. If you have a social conscience, which you seem to as you highlighted the above, it beggars belief that you voted leave. What you did is like turkey voting for Christmas.

NameChanger22 · 12/03/2019 21:30

I've never been angry, just sad and worried. Mostly worried.
