@Imustbemad00 - The medicine issue, is serious, but I truly don’t believe it. I don’t for a second believe that people are going to die because of a lack of medication. We’re not a third world country.
If, as you say, you know nothing about it, what makes you think that there won't be an issue with medications? Experts in the area have expressed serious concern at the impact a no deal brexit would have on supplies. Do you think they are making it up?
I didn’t vote. I’ve never voted. I’m not trying to be ignorant. I don’t think about it because it doesn’t affect me personally and I’m not sure it ever will.
I have to say, I find this shocking. I know the electoral system in the UK can render some people's votes irrelevant if they are in an area with a safe seat but to be this far removed from understanding how decisions impact on our lives is sad.
A no deal brexit would mean ripping up every trade deal with nothing to replace most of them and taking years to replace many of them; wto terms applying until the deals can be done meaning increased prices due to high tariffs on many goods; breaking the terms of the good friday agreement and potentially seeing a return of the troubles; potentially having to allow goods of much lower standards be sold in the country; the tory government no longer having to adhere to workplace regulations that covers things like maximum working hours, maternity rights, discrimination laws, safety standards, etc. All of these things will potentially affect you.
I understand there will be a huge impact for businesses. But a selfish as it is for me to say, it doesn’t effect me so doesn’t require me to spend time worrying about it.
See my point above. It affects a damn sight more than businesses. Also, if businesses are affected, that affects the economy overall. Unemployment increases, funding for public services such as education, health, social welfare etc reduces. If you're made redundant or if there isn't enough money to provide adequate staffing in health services or teacher/pupil ratios increase resulting in increased class sizes and thus poorer quality education for your children, will you start to worry about it then?
