To ask what the best money you ever spent was?

I was using my hair straighteners today, and realised that it's been 15 years since I purchased them. They are GHDs and I bought them in 2004. Used almost daily and they were £100. At the time I thought this was quite expensive. But working out cost per usage it's pretty amazing! They're still going strong.

What was the best money you ever spent on something and why?

I asked a friend, and she said it was the registration fee on a dating site, as she is now married with 2 children Smile

My dental work - complete 'smile' makeover cost 25k 6 years ago but makes me happy every single time I catch my reflection. I had horrible teeth before, and it made me miserable.

Bean to Cup coffee maker - I was so excited to get up for about 5 years. Last thing I thought of at night was the lovely coffee I'd have in the morning.

Current house. Being ten minutes away from my lovely DGS's is worth ten times the amount we paid.

Eye wateringly expensive plane ticket to the states in 1980. Met my wonderful DH and still living the happy ever after :)

My eye-wateringly expensive car. I feel like a female James Bond every time I get into it. I’d promised myself one for years and one day just took the plunge. Only problem is I spend a lot of time with my friends Esso!

@Bellasorellaa

What's a fat transfer? Can they literally suck fat from one part and put in in another?

Does it last?

£3000 on having my teeth straightened in my late 40s - wearing the braces for a year was a real pain in the arse but I'm so delighted with my teeth now Grin Grin Grin

Fippantly, stretching every financial sinew to buy my ex husband out of the family house. Also buying Lush moisturisers when finances allow.

My Laura Ashley writing bureau. It was ex-display and about £450(ish). I really cleared myself out buying it but I am thankful for it everyday. We have 4 kids and a tiny house. My bureau is in a cuboard under the stairs and everyday I open the cupboard to my little world and write my book.

Its beautiful to me! I have a little lamp in there. A shelf. My place. All my books. God I love it!

My Fitbit, my onesie (brings me more joy than I care to admit) our sofa, and our honeymoon to Tokyo, some of my favourite memories

Skiing holiday when our DCs were little. They now have no fear, (unlike me) when they go skiing.

Laser hair removal on my bikini line 15 years ago. I’ve saved a fortune on waxing and have never had to think twice about it since.

£5 on getting my ears pierced lots of years ago. I have had loads of fun buying and wearing every type of earring, neat and classy, big and sassy, sparkly, strange, unusual, flowery, pretty, so many earrings!

I realise this is quite an old thread but I read MN on my commute on a phone I don't want to post from, so I have been waiting to contribute here all day!
