To ask who is the longest serving contributor to Mumsnet

I've lurked for ages but only fairly recently plucked up the courage to contribute. Noticed the Podcast thread about how it all started and just wondered who is the longest serving member and how many of the first contributors are still here? Might be difficult to find out I guess or maybe not, I'm no expert on these matters!

18 years for me!

I’ve been here since before ‘official records’ if they only started in March 2001, that’s when my DS was born & I joined when pregnant. Dread to think how much time I’ve wasted on here . Interesting how you follow different topics, all the pregnancy & baby threads bore me senseless now!

Anyone remember Mears? She spoke a lot of sense. I wonder what’s happened to Riven & her DD.

Oh good, she was my lifesaver many times.

I think it was 2009 or maybe 2010 - around the times of Moldies from what I remember.

Many name changes over the years, so I doubt anybody will recognise me.

Few of my old faves:

Gomummy, CheerfulYank, Elmofan, Teaandcakeplease, Hairextensions, Valiumredhead, ApocalypseCheese, and of course AnyFucker.

I know there are more though I miss them days.

17 years for me, joined as soon as we got internet at home (well, internet that did anything other than vvv slow email), just after ds was born, and he's 17.

Had 3 main names, one of which a few people occasionally mention on a "whatever happened to ......" thread. I've had this one for about 13 years now. I'm past caring who knows its me. Sometimes Iplay fast and loose with the truth, just to confuse my NC mother who I'm pretty sure stalks me on here.

Always been hazeyjane, which is probably daft, but I love MN despite it changing quite a bit over the years.

I'll probably still be hazeyjane, sat in a corner with an ear trumpet nursing a port and lemon, in another 30 years.

So many long-timers on this thread! I joined in 2003 - lurk more than post. I wonder if there are many other forums (fora?) that have posters with a similar longevity? It feels very Hotel California - you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

I’ve been here since early 2002, with a few name changes over the years. Names I remember from the very early days are Bumblelion and Bobbins. Also I think Soupy was already here then. Lady you’re right, mears was a midwife.

I think I've been here about 12 years and have name changed several times.

Never a prolific poster and dip in and out but I remember some of the names mentioned here.

13 years. No time off for good behaviour....always some name change around Pan.

Now infrequent poster. Too sane, too busy.🤣

2005 for me - some great memories reading some of the old names

About 11/12 years for me I think. I was pranma originally.

I can't remember when I joined but it must be a long time ago now!
There were lots of forums when my kids were little UK Parents, Parents Lounge etc, I can't remember where MN fitted into all of that.
