Forgetting everything but the fact an innocent baby has died

AIBU to feel unbelievably sad that Shamima Bergum’s baby has died.

The poor mite simply didn’t have a chance in the world he was born in to.

Sad

I agree! This could be more false news. Did anyone see the baby? How do you know that the story is true? How do you know that any issue about this woman is true? It is only what you have been told and you would be foolish to believe everything that you are told.

hardyloveit · 08/03/2019 22:19

Queenbodicea - she didn't make a stupid mistake when she was 15 - she made one of the most horrendous decisions!
A stupid mistake at 15 is missing curfew or getting drunk in the park etc every 15 year old I know - the though to join ISIS wouldn't even cross their brain!

Yes it's sad the poor baby has died (or maybe has I'm sure I heard the camp has confirmed it) however he would have had a life growing up in ISIS - she said herself she can't be (oh I've forgotten the bloody word! Thinks it begins with r?)

Oh radicalised or deradicalissd whichever it is! She won't be able to come back to uk and not be part of Isis is what I'm trying to say!

The baby could have become an isis terrorist! Very sad situation all round for whatever path that baby was going on

squeezysparklyballs · 08/03/2019 22:20

Not ignorant at all m'dear.

It's perfectly reasonable that the headlines should report this

acciocat · 08/03/2019 22:22

Report it by all means. Dominate the national news? No. She’s had enough publicity. M’dear.

Tinyteatime · 08/03/2019 22:22

If she hadn't made herself known and been stripped of her citizenship

She didn’t make herself known, the times journo tracked her down. ( and later wrote an article about how she was in fact a scared and regretful young woman who was still surrounded by Isis supporters in the camp, let’s not forget). Once identified of course her baby could have been saved. They could have been repatriated.

DesertSky · 08/03/2019 22:23

News articles claim all her babies suffered from breathing difficulties. I’m not being funny but in that interview she gave, the baby’s face was covered for most of it. Could it be they all suffocated?

squeezysparklyballs · 08/03/2019 22:23

His name was Jerah.

He died of a lung infection. In case anyone is interested.

limpbizkit · 08/03/2019 22:23

The little 8 year old girl inside the Manchester arena. That young baby I feel sorry for. Killed by the very same cause as she supports. Forget her and her make believe babies. Soft touch UK at its best on this thread.

YogaWannabe · 08/03/2019 22:24

@acciocat it’s honestky horrific that squeezy would even attempt to put such revolting words in your mouth (but if you read her other posts on this thread you’ll see her general tone is hysterical)
And then to shrug it off with “m’dear”
Clearly quite a sick individual

squeezysparklyballs · 08/03/2019 22:24

I suggest you report your concerns then. Lots of public interest on this I'm afraid-including from you.

Notwotuknow · 08/03/2019 22:25

I'm not convinced she actually birthed any children, or that this newest baby was even hers (if there was one). I think the death is a convenient way to garner sympathy and, if it wasn't actually her child, to be able to give it back to the real mum once the cameras were gone, without any questions being asked.

If she did actually have a baby and that baby has died, I feel sorry for it, but with regards to her, it changes nothing. She should still not be allowed back here, and I've no sympathy for her at all.

There was plenty of speculation that there was no baby/it was a borrowed baby, before he died. It isnt uncommon apparently, to claim an orphaned child in order to get preferential treatment.

I don't know why people think three pregnancies is unlikely though.

DonaldTwain · 08/03/2019 22:26

Maybe she was brainwashed.
Maybe she’s a sociopath (my favoured explanation).
Maybe she’s evil.
None of us know. What is true is that the baby was a British citizen, and our government failed to act to ensure his welfare. I’m quite content to say Javid should bear responsibility for that. Conservative voter of two decades standing, by the way.

squeezysparklyballs · 08/03/2019 22:26

No, the scrabbling for a way to justify the way the UK let this baby die is horrific.

Our gov is completely morally bankrupt now.

howtotrainyourdragqueen · 08/03/2019 22:27

How very convenient that she was 'found' heavily pregnant then days later gave birth and 2-3 weeks later this baby has sadly died.

Hmmm Hmm

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 08/03/2019 22:28

I doubt the baby was a British citizen.

squeezysparklyballs · 08/03/2019 22:28

"Hysterical" perversely apt way to dismiss what I say, on this of all days.

Samcro · 08/03/2019 22:29

I feel so sad for the parents and families of the people killed by ISIS
the children and people killed at the concert in Manchester were somebodies babies.

acciocat · 08/03/2019 22:29

Spot on yoga

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 08/03/2019 22:29

Oh get off your high horse sparkly with your ridiculous rantings.

DonaldTwain · 08/03/2019 22:30

I find it really rather depressing that people will grasp at any theory, however outlandish, rather than rethink their stance.
No wonder the country is in such a poor situation. We just can’t admit we got it wrong, can we?

TinyTeaTime my eldest son was considered for a post with Eurobrokers based on the top floor of the WTC in New York. The other young man had a years experience and got the position. My son was 18 he was 19. This boy perished in 9/11 along with nearly everyone else on that floor. My son was working in the City of London on 6.7.2005 and watched people being worked on by the emergency services. Another friend couldn’t get on the bus at Tavistock Square and as it pulled away it blew up. All young people the same age as SB so no I don’t have any sympathy for her or her murdering terrorist friends.

Tinyteatime · 08/03/2019 22:31

How very convenient that she was 'found' heavily pregnant then days later gave birth and 2-3 weeks later this baby has sadly died.

Pretty common place in the life of a woman living in a war zone or refugee camp. No contraception, no medical care. I think some people need to open their eyes to what the lives of women are like without these two basics we are accustomed to here.

Marcipex · 08/03/2019 22:31

Tiny, no one made her talk to the journo.
But it makes no difference to the baby's health, many babies have died in the camps, and sadly will continue to do so. It's nothing to do with citizenship.
