Rachel McKinnon is a transgender cyclist, who, surprise surprise, is winning races against women.

Ok, maybe Navratilova shouldn't have used the word cheated, but surely nobody can disagree with the fact that Ms McKinnon has a male body, and the size and strength of a man, and having the right to compete against women is just plain wrong?

So PinkyU, are you saying that transsexuals are wrong or lying, when they say they are not women, but are men that present as women or are transwomen? Who is right in that argument? I'm female, 10 years older than RM, I've not ridden a bike since the 1980s and that was a BMX, also at my weight, anything short of a quadbike would crumble under me like it was made of pastry. I'll win the race though.

The way the BBC is apparently in thrall to extremist trans activists is disturbing and sickening. One of their other low points was when they reported on the trial of another cheating trans male, Lauren Jeska, and didn’t even reference the fact that Jeska is trans - even though the attempted murder Jeska was ultimately convicted of hinged entirely on the fact that Jeska is transgender.

Those reports of a “woman” being tried for a particularly vicious, violent, male pattern crime that had its origins in Jeska cheating women out of sporting success - they blew my mind with their total lack of concern for truth or facts.

Well, as theories go I’d find that a lot easier to swallow than RM’s, granted much more interesting, premise that RM is a woman with a woman’s penis because RM says so.

I thought I was alone in this. My niece think I am transphobic. I am not. But I don't think they are women. They are trans- women.

@TalkingintheDark no I hadn't heard of ROGD. I will read up on it and also the sites you mentioned.

She has hinted at it for over a year so it hasn't come as a massive shock. She experiences utter disgust with herself since she started her periods and is very uncomfortable with her body since puberty began. She has never been a confident child and does struggle with friendships and in social situations. It is possible that there are some lasting affects from.my experiences.

I'm very new on this journey and I want her to feel supported but I am of course worried in case this isn't the right thing for her. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me. It is very much appreciated.
