Background:
Me and dp have been together 11 years, 2 dd's.
Have just found a sent message on his phone to a number I dont know saying 'I'm in car park with Gemma'.

I have never heard of a Gemma.

I've tried calling the number on withheld but switched off.

What's the best way to challenge him on this? He's at the gym and left his phone at home. I need to know what to say when he returns in an hour.

Shall I just come out with it and put him on the spot and say 'who's gemma' as soon as he walks in?

Name changed and sorry for typo's - I'm panicking!

Is your other half called Gemma? Why would she use his phone and then say she was in the carpark with Gemma.

Either you're spinning us a line, or he is you!!

Iseewhatyoumeanthistime · 02/03/2019 19:33

@Desmomdo2016, I read it as Gemma is a friend of the OPs DH' s friend, do I make sense lol Hmm
So OP DH OP DH friend then Gemma (I think)

Chelseajunior · 02/03/2019 19:37

Yes I don't disagree with the odd spliff.
I hate the stuff myself!
Hardly the crime of the century Wink

Are dealers particularly naive round your parts then? As there's absolutely no chance any dealer worth his salt is going to conduct a 'deal' by text to an unknown number. That's jailbait!

KitKat1985 · 02/03/2019 19:40

Glad it's all sorted OP (although personally I'd go mental if my DH was smoking weed). However is there a reason you are so suspicious, or is it an anxiety on your part? It was a pretty innocuous message and it's weird to be going through your husband's messages in the first place.

AnyFucker · 02/03/2019 19:43

Some massive holes in this story

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 02/03/2019 19:48

gemma's got a fabulous memory for the dealer's phone number.

I know, mine and dh's, that's it. Not my mother's, not the children's none.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 02/03/2019 19:49

Gemma has a hotline to the dealer - PHEW! Who is Gemma btw OP?

Crunchymum · 02/03/2019 19:53

God you're easily pleased OP.

Your non working partner pissed off out until whatever time, ends the night calling a dealer?

You've gone from paranoid panic to "cool wife" in the space of this thread. Glad he wasn't shagging Gemma, just buying drugs for her Confused

What does your DP do for money?

showmewhatyougot · 02/03/2019 19:53

I'd be more worried that he hangs around with "2 friends who cheat on their partners"

Most good men wouldn't be ok just watching their friends casually cheat on the wives/girlfriends regularly.

What does he do when this is happening?

Gemma? ;)

We can't answer who she is, so I don't get these types of threads tbh, but you can ask him.

Crunchymum · 02/03/2019 19:54

TBF Gemma could have run out of credit or knowing her battery was low she put her number in another phone?

Crunchymum · 02/03/2019 19:56

OP does say Gemma had no credit. So she could still access her phone for the dealers number.

Glad y'all have your priorities right.... run out of credit but can afford weed Shock

JockTamsonsBairns · 02/03/2019 20:02

Yes, Gemma could access the number from her own phone, but the dealer would receive the text from an "unknown number". Wouldn't be very wise of him to conduct a drug deal, in writing, to a phone number he doesn't know.

Kittykat93 · 02/03/2019 20:03

So if Gemma is the one who text off your partners phone why does it say 'I'm in the car park with gemma' ?? Maybe I'm being thick but that makes no sense to me.

BirdieInTheHand · 02/03/2019 20:08

If Gemma used his phone to text why did she say "I'm in the car park with Gemma"

Makes no sense Confused

HoppityFrog3 · 02/03/2019 20:09

He was only texting a dealer! 😆😂😂😂

Huskylover1 · 02/03/2019 20:15

So Gemma texted the dealer saying "I'm in the car park with Gemma". ??

What?

HoppityFrog3 · 02/03/2019 20:16

@Chelseajunior

But you still don't know who 'GEMMA' is then? Wink

Huskylover1 · 02/03/2019 20:17

You sound young. I don't know any young people that are on PAYG.

Crunchymum · 02/03/2019 20:20

You'd be surprised how thick drug dealers can be.

A friend of ours organised a £20 "deal" a few months ago and then continued to receive round robin texts about new shipments Confused until he told the dude to piss off.

As for the "I'm with Gemma".... dealer probably spoke to Gemma and told her to let him know when she was at the drop off. The OPs DP was just the messenger?

Mummyoflittledragon · 02/03/2019 20:21

Were you paying for the drugs you dislike?

PinkiOcelot · 02/03/2019 20:58

That doesn’t ring true. Why would Gemma use his phone and say she in the car park with Gemma?
Ahh well if you’re happy with the dealer explanation!🙄

YogaWannabe · 02/03/2019 21:20

If this is true, I bet it was coke not weed.
Maybe I just know shadier people but imo anyone organizing last night drug deals in car parks is always for class As

HollowTalk · 02/03/2019 21:39

Why would Gemma use his phone and say she in the car park with Gemma?

Exactly! He needs to get his story straight.

And I agree if it was to do with a dealer, it'll be for coke.

Kneehigim · 02/03/2019 21:43

So your DP is in the carpark with Gemma.
They need some dope.
Gemma runs out of credit.
Gemma texts off DP's phone, 'I'm in the carpark with Gemma'.

Clear as mud.
