I don't give 2 shiney shits about the Oscars, who wins, what they wear. It's just not something I've ever had an interest in.

Having said that I saw Olivia Coleman won best Lead Actress and watched the accompanying video.

I'm so pleased for her. It obviously means a lot to her and she is one of Britain's greatest actresses who has really done a great slog to get where she is and I've enjoyed so many of her shows and films.

Congratulations Olivia.

I used to hang around with her, her nanny and her son, when they lived in Peckham. She is not fake at all, absolutely lovely, and as "awkward" as on tv 😍 And has very nice husband too.

backatschool · 25/02/2019 19:05

I was at school with Collie for 6 years, we were in the same class. She hasn't changed a bit, still lovely and a bit mad and scatty in a gorgeous way. Not fake in the slightest. I'm delighted for her.

GoFiguire · 25/02/2019 19:11

I’ve been nominated for an Oscar and no, we don’t know in advance who is going to win.

OKBobble · 25/02/2019 19:14

I loved The Favourite and am happy she won.

longwayoff · 25/02/2019 19:31

Bit worried about you now bowchic Hmm

Lovestonap · 25/02/2019 19:41

I think she's an extremely talented actress and I'm pleased for her.
2012 and Fleabag have been some of the best TV this millennium in my humble opinion (come on Phoebe WB, when's the next series out?!)

HoraceCope · 25/02/2019 19:44

Fleabag series 2 on march 4th!

Bowchicawowow · 25/02/2019 19:59

Really longwayoff?

YouTheCat · 25/02/2019 20:06

She is brilliant. Love her in just about everything I've ever seen her in. Fabulous in Green Wing.

PuppyMonkey · 25/02/2019 20:14

Bowchic, I saw that too. Grin

To continue the spirit of the thread, I have not seen The Favourite or The Wife. Or Green Book.

HoraceCope · 25/02/2019 20:16

not seen Baptiste yet, still catching up on Les Mis

The80sweregreat · 25/02/2019 21:03

She is brilliant in Fleabag as well.
A clever actress.
Still hate celeb culture though!

TSSDNCOP · 25/02/2019 21:23

I think her acting is fabulous, utterly loved her Oscars dress and think it’s lovely she’s just as people remember her. Congratulations Olivia.

But dear God do you get on my tits.

Wildcate · 25/02/2019 21:29

I’ve been nominated for an Oscar and no, we don’t know in advance who is going to win.

😮

More info please, what category?
Did you go to the awards ceremony?

onthenaughtystepagain · 25/02/2019 21:33

All that faux humility Yes that what I thought. What was all that 'I worked as a cleaner' rubbish?
Colman was born in Norwich, Norfolk, the daughter of Mary (Leakey), a nurse, and Keith Colman, a chartered surveyor.[5][6][7] She was privately educated at Norwich High School for Girls and Gresham's School, Holt
Woman of the people...not.

Oh dear, I do hope that your hair shirt isn't too uncomfortable.

SomethingWithLemons · 25/02/2019 21:52

Haven't RTFT but I thought she was amazing in The Favourite.

derxa · 25/02/2019 21:53

Oh dear, I do hope that your hair shirt isn't too uncomfortable. Grin No it's lovely and scratchy thanks.

GoFiguire · 25/02/2019 22:09

Couldn’t possibly say Wink

longwayoff · 25/02/2019 22:26

Hi princess, I bought Rev on dvd, cellar notwithstanding, I'm quite fond of Mr Hollander myself.

ssd · 25/02/2019 22:36

The Wife was pretty awful, right up its own arse

kittensarecute · 25/02/2019 23:30

I was hoping for Glenn Close to win (I absolutely love her) but Olivia was my second choice. Must watch the Favourite at some point.
