Holly Willougbys boobs on Dancing On Ice Tonight.

There is this women on Twitter going on about how it’s not ok for “family viewing” before the watershed?

How the hell is a bit of cleavage offensive to children?

Am I being dim here? I can’t see anything offensive about it at all?

Holly looks fine, however, whilst on the topic of boobage, what the hell is it with US tv and nipples, which are always blanked out? Why can Americans look at violent, bloody, serial killer type shows all day but can't see a nipple? Female nipples; can't say I've ever noticed whether male nipples acceptable or not.

Alsohuman · 25/02/2019 08:29

Have I suddenly found myself in the 19th century? Since when was a bit of cleavage indecent? More proof the world’s going mad.

bellabasset · 25/02/2019 08:30

I thought the dress looked awful, it was the wide straps not fitting with the cut of the bodice, a bit like a woman in a pretty dress wearing doc martens. Offensive- no.

BertrandRussell · 25/02/2019 08:33

“Have I suddenly found myself in the 19th century? Since when was a bit of cleavage indecent? More proof the world’s going mad”

Not indecent at all. But a dodgy message to all the thousands of little girls watching....

minieggsqueen · 25/02/2019 08:39

I don't think its bad tbh, most female celebs go over the top any way with outfits to show off cleavage/legs and to get attention. It's sad really that they can't just use their status to feel good. They have to ask for attention and gossip with what they expose.

The dress make her boobs look awful though to me! Uneven and ageing. Blush

KurriKurri · 25/02/2019 08:42

Laughing about someone complaining about a flash of gusset - it is dancing on ice - gusset central ! Grin

As for boobs - the dress didn't fit her very well at the top, so looked a bit more revealing than it was I think. Probably not her choice - or she had to choose from a selection from wardrobe. Would be nice to see a woman presenter in trousers/jacket/etc for a change, the low cut evening gowns are all a bit 'I'm the main presenter and this is my lovely assistant Anthea - give us a twirl love' IMO.

QuirkyQuark · 25/02/2019 08:55

I'm not a fan at all of cleavage, it's unnecessary and I've taught my dd that too. Anyway it's not a flattering dress at all but I don't 5think hink it's indecent.

Alsohuman · 25/02/2019 09:07

Why is it a dodgy message to little girls? The message we should give little girls is that they can dress any way they like and there’s nothing shameful about their bodies.

mydogisthebest · 25/02/2019 09:09

I didn't find it offensive but did think it was a bit too sexy for early evening viewing. Makes me laugh really the men all have shirt and jackets or even sometimes a jumper and jacket, the audience often have coats and scarves on and Holly and Jane Torvill have sleeveless dresses on most weeks.

I thought it made her boobs look droopy and it really irritated me that it was not even at the front. It meant that my eyes were just drawn to it all the time.

BertrandRussell · 25/02/2019 09:21

I agree. Rgat’s Not what’s happening here. They are being told that women need a particular “look” to present programmes like these. And that look is conventionally sexy with lots of skin on show.

Maldives2006 · 25/02/2019 09:29

What would you recommend for family viewing it’s hardly indecentConfused

Maldives2006 · 25/02/2019 09:34

Seriously!!! why have you taught your daughter that??

There is nothing wrong with boobs and a woman’s body, what if she grows up to have big boobs? For one it’s more flattering to show a bit cleavage rather than trying to hide them and two you are you trying to damage your daughters body image.

The world is going seriously crazy

bobstersmum · 25/02/2019 09:38

I don't personally like the dress but she looks fine in it, however before she lost weight she had much bigger boobs, it might have looked quite raunchy had she worn it then!

Pishogue · 25/02/2019 09:40

The only problem with it is that, along with so many other similar programmes, it normalises the idea that in male-female presenting teams, the man wears something understated and professional he could attend a job interview or walk down the street in without anyone giving him a second glance, while the woman is required to primarily present as sexy.

Alsohuman · 25/02/2019 09:48

It’s absolutely not true that women have to present sexily to front these programmes. This is ONE woman. Emma Williis on The Voice? No. Claudia Winkleman on Strictly? No. This is a lot of old bollocks to justify a new Puritanism. It was interesting to see most actresses at the Oscars were pretty covered up although I suspect that’s down to fashion.

QuirkyQuark · 25/02/2019 09:52

Maldives my daughter is 20 so she's not going to grow any more. And I personally don't like cleavage so I've taught her it's not necessary but should she choose to ignore me now she's an adult then that's her choice.

PrismGuile · 25/02/2019 11:34

I thought she looked stunning

PooleySpooley · 25/02/2019 15:30

If it wasn’t for low cut tops I would never have passed my driving test....Hmm

Well it is necessary for me, with a G cup and wanting to dress in a comfortable yet not overwhelmingly stifling (as in heat) dress/top.
I am really upset at the idea your DD will misunderstand this.

Teagoanngoanngoann · 25/02/2019 18:07

Not offensive at all. Twitter lady is obviously just offended at everything... i once worked in sales for a large electrical retailer...
I worked with a male staff member who was built like a bean pole and wore quite slim cut style work trousers. They left absolutely nothing to the imagination and this guy was obviously not lacking in a certain department. We had a customer and his wife come in with their two teenage daughters...the girls literally couldnt take their eyes off this guys appendage. The parents bundled them back into the car and came in and made a complaint to the manager saying how offensively he was dressed. The guy was dressed in long trousers n long sleeved shirt... The manager was a bit flabbergasted and said the guy was dressed appropriately and maybe they should teach their kids not to stare. Maybe they are related to twitter lady Grin

Sue1960 · 25/02/2019 18:14

They obviously haven't watched music stations lately lol
Holly has always had a cheeky/wild child side to her
She has taste though ~ enough to style that dress out
Im getting on a bit so no certain parts of me are best hidden now but as the saying goes 'you got it then flaunt it!' :)

PooleySpooley · 25/02/2019 18:15

Her use of “gusset” has made he chuckle all day Grin

Smuuuurfette · 25/02/2019 18:18

Both my DDs think it’s hysterical when the skaters dresses fly up and they can shout bum! They are yet to be mentally scarred by Holly Willoughby

PooleySpooley · 25/02/2019 18:22

I am an E cup.

Dressing in the summer is s bit of a mare sometimes as I have to look respectable for work and a lot of tops are too high necked - I need to show a bit of cleavage so as not to look top heavy.
