My DD pointing at the candy floss.

What's your best "wrong name" story?

MaggieAndHopey · 22/02/2019 05:27

JillGoodacre · 22/02/2019 05:31

My daughter once called the back of her knee her "knee pit"

sofato5miles · 22/02/2019 05:32

DD 5: Wing mirrors = car's ears
DS 8: Cat nip = cat nibble

JillGoodacre · 22/02/2019 05:32

Oh and DS assistants "eat-blind" instead of deaf 😌

My daughter used to call bras booby jackets-which does make sense

When we were little we'd call Jacket potatoes-Aloo tring ( aloo means potato in my mother tongue) and trying was the sound of the microwave when the potato was ready!

My 2 year old son calls all food cake!

MiniDoofa · 22/02/2019 05:40

“Foot leggings” for tights 😀

Sweetpea55 · 22/02/2019 05:40

Swede and carrot mixed together was ' onidge' from my dgs aged 2. The same child used ' becase' which turned out to be a combination of incase and because.
We still use these words 20 years along.

Imacliche · 22/02/2019 05:47

My daughter got her preschool boosters and then proceeded to tell everyone she had sore erections (injections)
She also calls pop corn "cockporn" 🙈

FutureMrsTempah · 22/02/2019 06:07

Aerocopter for planes or helicopters

Webby boots for wellies

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 22/02/2019 06:22

Biscuits are spickets. Babybel is cheese Bell. Courtesy of my 3 year old.

Rockmysocks · 22/02/2019 06:29

My eldest is called escalators 'excitalators'

Nquartz · 22/02/2019 06:41

Despite being 7 DD still calls trampolining bouncy-lining & it's way too cute to correct

ludog · 22/02/2019 06:55

My niece used to call her slide an "up-wheee"

Margsus · 22/02/2019 07:05

DS2 - helicopters were “oo la las”, raisins were “nunnies”, slippers were “woof woos”, and cucumbers were “doodoodunduns”. We still use these words in our house. He’s 34 😏

IWantToUseAnApostrophy · 22/02/2019 07:16

Road lumps = speed bumps
Said as SF drove a tad faster than necessary down a lane and I was trying to warn him of the upcoming hazards!

LikeACowsOpinion · 22/02/2019 07:17

Cereal is called 'somes' in my house. Stems from me asking my 3yo daughter if she wanted some when I was making my breakfast. Confused the life out of me when she asked for some somes.

Still one of the cutest things ever GrinSmile

LikeACowsOpinion · 22/02/2019 07:20

Oh and her dressing gown is her 'warm'.
'Mummy, can I have my warm please?'

She kills me with cuteness every day.

notyourmummy · 22/02/2019 07:21

When Laddo was about 2, bouncy castles were bouncy parcels and car transporters were car mansporters. This then led to van mansporters, which just rolls off the tongue so nicely!! Little Girl calls her mittens baby sharks because I sang the song to encourage her to wear them once. And any credit card sized card is a beep beep, because of the noise they make when you pay contactless - she's a real child of her time!!!

LadyGAgain · 22/02/2019 07:32

These have made my heart swell this morning! DH and I have enjoyed giggling. These little people are incredible!

DD was great at inventing words. A waitress was a "fooder", as in "That fooder is going to be very tired after all that walking about!"

My favourite is "huptoo" for elephants. From the Jungle Book march of the elephants "Hup 2,3,4 keep it up 2,3,4....."

Boobiliboobiliboo · 22/02/2019 07:34

DD, explaining to me how my car works (aged around 3.5): “and this pedal is the exhilarator”. Grin

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 22/02/2019 07:37

Glubs for gloves , icebeena for ribena.

Chocolatecake12 · 22/02/2019 07:40

Ully Bella for umbrella. It’s stuck and that’s what we call it now! That’s ds1 who’s 17 today!
Ds2 called cous cous ‘customer’ and we also still say that now!
Aren’t kids cute?!!
