Oh also, not DS but friends DD used to call Pocahontas 'poking-in-your-honkas'

My DB used to call bread "soft toast". He had loads of funny ways of describing things

My daughter aged 4 at the time. Can I have scruffy eggs? (Scrambled eggs). Still call them scruffy eggs years later. Too cute.

We have baubles for marbles and snack holes for pockets.

Eldest used to call a bra a boob holder. He also likes scrambled toast (French toast). Youngest is potty training and we've introduced boxers for wearing as an alternative to his pants - he calls them baxsters.

Just thought of another. DS came home from nursery and said his teacher kept saying Banjo! to everyone as they walked in. Turns out they were teaching them a few French words.. Bonjour obvs

“There’s a nasty giraffe in the room”. Means a draft :)

We still use quite a few "wrong" descriptions used by our eldest, now 19, as a toddler.
Green toast = garlic bread
Bubble juice = fizzy water
Otie hoots = opal fruits (starburst)
Meat and bone = KFC
Buster creams = custard creams
Meat lollipops = kebabs (on sticks)

Not one of ours, but I heard or read somewhere of a little girl who, having watched rather a lot of YouTube videos, thought that "Don't forget to subscribe" meant "Goodbye" - and would say it when bidding people farewell, just like the people in the videos did!

DS used to call the washing machine the 'round'n'round', upstairs was 'up bears' and the microwave was the 'beep'

Welsh name for microwave is meicrodon.

Welsh nickname for microwave is popty ping.

Broleelee for broccoli and swooshie for sushi, both DD1. We still say both over 10 years later!

Luke-dark for twilight was mine (not very long ago!). My ds called helicopters 'weecock-ock'.

DD3 calls high heels "up shoes"

When I had shingles, DS who was about 5 at the time announced ‘mummy’s got pringles’.

He also misheard someone in a film saying ‘newlyweds’ as ‘nillywits’ which has since become a well-used insult in our house.

DS1 called escalators going up "upilators" and DS2 thought the noise an emergency vehicle siren made was "oh no, oh no, oh no"

Ooh and DS1 confounded is for ages asking for the "Barbie in a Rats Body" song. He heard it on the radio one day and got very excited-"Bohemian Rhapsody"

My ds when he sneezed when he was younger if snot came out he called it bless you'd.

After losing his gran my four year old didn't know the word for coffin so called it 'a heaven box'
