DDs uniform is her "pretty little unicorn"

Living room is "Woo woo Room"

All from DD aged 3

foreveranxious · 23/02/2019 17:25

My DS always used to think that the sign for a disabled space was 'for the people with wheelbarrows'!

DS also used to say radadators for radiator! He still can't say chimney either - it's chimley!

foreveranxious · 23/02/2019 17:27

Oh and another DS classic - No Entry signs were 'Dead Entry' Grin

bonbonours · 23/02/2019 20:49

@JillGoodacre We have "leg-pits" in our house (back of your knee)

My daughter used to call toilet paper "too roll" I guess it was a mix of loo and toilet.

It only occurred to me the other day that we could maybe start calling it soft cheese instead of 'spready cheese' - my daughter is nearly 13!

I'm a bit sad I never made a note of these when mine were tiny, I can't remember any more now but I'm sure there were more.

If clothes are the wrong way round (inside out), I get asked by my 4 yr old to turn them outside in. My bra is a Barbera, when the spaniel has his head out of the car window he is 'flying his ears'....bonkers kiddo

BikeRunSki · 23/02/2019 21:00

Grated cheese - raining cheese (because you sprinkle it on from above).

DS declared his new school had rhinos when he started in Reception. Insisted. And they don't mind all the boys weeing on them!

Booby knickers for my bra. Boobs are just a bum on your chest.

Chicken yogurts = nuggets.

Ra Ra Ray = fromaige frais.

WhatNow40 · 23/02/2019 21:18

And The Troll in our house is the remote control.

MilfordFound · 23/02/2019 21:32

My 3 year old uses her toy stethoscope to listen to my 'heartbeep '.
She used to call Father Christmas.... Daddy Ho Ho, that one is my favourite Smile

WhatNow40 · 23/02/2019 21:48

I just remembered myat - as in My Hat.

And 3 hour stand off when he demanded we go to The Flower Shop. Huh? Turned out it was B&M bargains, where I'd bought some bulbs the week before. He wanted to get something from the toy section.

BabiaMajora · 23/02/2019 22:09

Flakeemo - flamingo (me aged 3ish)
Tomato shop - Tesco (DS1, 4 at the time, looking at the sign)
Lasterday - yesterday (DS2 when he was 3 and very sleepy)

Alfiesmom74 · 23/02/2019 22:14

My foreign friend calls toes foot fingers!

MumUnderTheMoon · 23/02/2019 22:19

Mine isn't so cute but a funny child related word story. My dd sometimes mixes up her sounds especially the different syllables in words. Anyway her favourite cinema snack is popcorn and she once sashayed up to the counter at the cinema and proudly requested some cocporn! Best day of my life!

AcaiSmoothie · 23/02/2019 22:26

Not a child but I had a German customer ask me for "the water with the gas" once because he didn't know the english for sparkling water. It made me smile.

Iamneverfull · 23/02/2019 22:27

Chelseajunior · 23/02/2019 22:39

Love beep beep belly button
Love fart room
My wee one calls ravioli “eating pillows”

whydobirds · 23/02/2019 23:11

Dd - 'arm cases' for sleeves.

Offred2 · 23/02/2019 23:27

When I was breastfeeding my younger daughter my eldest (aged 4) couldn’t remember the word ‘nipples’ so just pointed at me and said ‘you know, milks’. So despite the days of breastfeeding being long gone nipples are still sometimes called milks in our house!

KarmaKiller · 23/02/2019 23:28

My oldest calls my hearing aids, hearanoids

Rainatnight · 23/02/2019 23:32

I love all of these.

DD got a toy kitchen when she was a toddler. It can with a little oven glove that she called a 'cooking mitten'.

I melt a bit every time I think about it.
