Celery.

The tiniest slice ruins any meal. AIBU?

Do you have another suggestion?

My son thinks cooked red onions look like slugs! Grin

Sakura7 · 09/02/2019 23:54

Your son is onto something user!

Marcipex · 10/02/2019 00:21

Raisins and sultanas, slimy little wells of rottenness.

Raw onion, it overwhelms everything.

Prawns, they live on sewage, then we're next in the food chain. Vom.

NeverTwerkNaked · 10/02/2019 00:33

@cauliflowersqueeze
Aversions to food can be your best clue that you might have an allergy to them- our body’s own defence mechanism. You’ve mentioned celery and sesame which are two top allergens so this may well apply to you.

My family all thought I had a hilarious aversion to egg (wouldn’t even be in the room when it was eaten or cooked). My children have both been diagnosed with life threatening egg allergies (as babies) and their allergy clinic said it was most likely I had an egg allergy too and that that was the cause of my aversion to it.

hastingsmua1 · 10/02/2019 00:37

I hate loads of rocket Sad

PentreBachCymraeg · 10/02/2019 00:40

Olives, little camo bastards of 'ovalness'

tfifridayatlast · 10/02/2019 00:42

Mushrooms 😫😫😫 the spawn of the devil

safariboot · 10/02/2019 00:44

I don't even like being in the same room as someone eating celery, the stuff stinks. But apparently some people can't smell it at all?

And agreed with raw onion. Blech. In particular when people ruin delicious cheese with disgusting onion.

Also sprouts. Boak. I won't let them cook in the same steamer as the other Christmas veg.

TooTightJeans · 10/02/2019 00:51

Fennel 🤮

Doman · 10/02/2019 00:51

Lamb. The smell alone can make me retch.
Milk. Ditto.
Sun-dried tomatoes (like eating someone's skin ... so relieved they're no longer trendy)
Any dried fruit

But I'm taken aback by all the cucumber hating. It's delicious!

safariboot · 10/02/2019 00:52

Oh yeah, and another for cucumber in sandwiches and wraps. Often not listed as a "main" ingredient but very noticeable. I remember Sainsbury's being particular offenders for putting it in all their sarnies.

Doman · 10/02/2019 00:53

And I have been known to eat raw onion and mayo sandwiches (yes, weirdo)

cherriesandoranges · 10/02/2019 00:53

Liver

GallicosCats · 10/02/2019 00:54

Palm oil. Tasteless gritty waxy cheap crap that ruins the planet to boot.

Dried sage. I have a sage bush in the garden and the fresh stuff is lovely, but the dried stuff is revoltingly chemical. Similarly with Parmesan: grate it fresh please. The powder in packets smells like unwashed feet.

Can't stand pearl barley. Slimy lumps that make me gag.

And anyone still putting sultanas in curry, just stop. The 70s want their cooking back.

Insomnibrat · 10/02/2019 01:06

Star Anise. I can taste it a mile off and it's ruined far too many otherwise lovely Asian dishes. Angry

Also agree with iceberg lettuce. It's just green water.

ApplesinmyPocket · 10/02/2019 01:36

English mustard is the most horrible taste in the world, with garlic a close second. Well, maybe equal. Both revolting.

Giggorata · 10/02/2019 01:41

Mine have all been said: goat's cheese, chilli and and raw onion. Gagging at the thought of the stinky goatiness, surely no one can actually like chilli, both hot and tasteless; and I am allergic to raw onion, which makes me feel sick and I can taste it for days afterwards. Yuck.

RedTartanLass · 10/02/2019 01:56

Peppers - any colour
Dried fruit
Margarine
Goats cheese

RedTartanLass · 10/02/2019 01:57

Oh and ground pepper - why just why?

Makes me sneeze every time anyone in close proximity uses it!

malificent7 · 10/02/2019 02:08

Love all of these thngs (i'm a greedy bastard). I spose liver is boak.

malificent7 · 10/02/2019 02:09

This os a controversial one...salted bloody caramel. ( always too much salt.)

malificent7 · 10/02/2019 02:12

So i hate salted caramel but love mustard, wasabi, corriander and onions. I am officially weird.

Myfoolishboatisleaning · 10/02/2019 02:48

Balsamic vinegar. Works on some things, but is still way overused. It isn’t the fucking 90s anymore.

Mayrhofen · 10/02/2019 07:08

What a fussy bunch. I eat almost everything everyone has said. Except the posters that mention margarine and they are 💯 correct. Who eat that stuff?

Deathraystare · 10/02/2019 07:19

With you on the hating celery. Too strong a flavour.

Also hate Jerusalem artichokes and Kohlrabi. Sharon fruit. Blackberries (but love other berries).

Don't like Plantain much.
