Really pissed off!

I have a neighbour who’s 2 DC go to the same school as my DS. As I drive and she doesn’t I take her to take the kids to school morning and afternoon. She’s not English but she speaks good English. I’ve decided to have a new car and I’ll be going from a 5 seater to a 4 seater which isn’t a problem as I can take the kids and pick them up on my own. My DH brought my new car home to show me it’s only a couple of years old and it’s a car I’ve wanted for ages (Fiat 500). Anyway we pull up outside my house and DH is outside in my new car and as we pull up I say “oh no way here’s my new car” and she looks at it and says “it’s shit”!!!! She definitely said that as she said it twice. I was absolutely gobsmacked and I told her how rude she is. I really feel now like telling her that if it’s that shit she won’t want her DC travelling in it then. It’s quite a walk from our houses to the school and she never offers petrol money or anything. AIBU to tell her in future she can walk to school??

It made me chuckle, are you sure she understood what she said?
I mean she doesn't drive so how does she know a shit car from a non shit car ?

Yeah she knows what she’s saying. She is very outspoken to the point of rudeness a lot of the time but today she really boiled my piss! I would do anything for anyone but she’s making it really hard for me to do anything for her again after this. Her DC are lovely and I don’t want to spite them by making them walk but on the other hand I could quite easily see her walk in a bloody force 9 gale!!

Oh dear, slightly comical but yes very rude.
I would continue taking the children to and from school as wouldn't want them to suffer because of her rudeness but maybe say, you offended me when you said my new car I was excited to get was 'shit'.
I wouldn't sweat it too much but I agree, RUDENESS!

How are you able to take 4 dcs? You need to make sure the air bag is dismantled in the front btw.

You need to make sure the air bag is dismantled in the front btw.

Bad advice. It depends on the age and size of the front seat passenger.

And please don't dismantle your car, it should have a button or similar to disable the airbag if need be Grin

No more lifts. My thinking would be if she has such an awful attitude, heaven help you if you were in an accident/delayed/unavailable etc where her kids were involved. She'd take no prisoners! Get out of this arrangement while you can

Maybe she's miffed that you had the audacity to downsize meaning you can't take her anymore, just her DC (size/airbag allowing etc). Cfer definitely language barrier or not.
