To go to an exotic resort on the other side of the world...partly business, partly holiday and leave your baby with another family member?

That's all there is too it. I'm not going into anymore details. Just wondering peoples opinions.

And no this is not me. I have my opinion on it....which is absolutely not.

No. I wouldn't even leave my 5 year old to go away for a week!

turncloak · 09/02/2019 07:41

I couldn't do it. And would secretly judge anybody who did.

happylittletree · 09/02/2019 07:43

Absolutely not. I was terrified to leave her out of my sight

HRTWT. Has the baby actually been born? The mum might feel differently when it’s here if it isn’t yet.
Personally I couldn’t leave an 8 weaker but DH and I have gone away for a week almost every year since DC1 was 1 (now 7), leaving both DC with willing GP. Its great for our relationship and the DC have a ball. This year it’s Vegas in April. I can’t wait.

*7 weeker

No chance, I didn't leave my first baby until he was about 4 months old and that was to visit my grandmother in hospital for an hour. He slept through the whole thing! I know I'm quite extreme.
I wouldn't leave my 2 and 6 year old for a week.

Never

No. I wouldn’t leave my 7year old to do this either. And yes I would absolutely judge anyone who did this. Yes parenting is hard, but you’re a parent which means your life does change and the child comes first. At 7 weeks a baby is so developmentally fragile, still forming bonds it’s not going to be a positive experience for the child.

No, a week would be too long for me. I managed a night away when my daughter was 12 weeks though

3boysandabump · 09/02/2019 18:25

@squeekums my boys have went to camp since they were 6. That's a completely different scenario to being in a totally different country for a week. For a start if they needed me I could be with them in an hour which wouldn't be possible if I was abroad
