Martin Clunes

I absolutely love Martin Clunes! I fancy him so much even though he’s older than my dad. He’s just seems so nice and funny.
Anyone else?!

Ahh... relieved to see the Martin Clunes appreciation thread is still going well! I’ve only heard good things about him too.

Eh? Wasn't there a video of him doing the rounds where he'd parked his Porsche or similar diagonally either in a disabled bay or bike bay and he tells the person confronting him to f-off? I decided he was a nasty shit from that video!

Oh I totally agree, he’s adorable!! My DH is very amused by my keenness in him but I think he’s lovely! So relieved that he’s so nice in real life too 😍

Ok, it's a BMW, a bike bay and the motorbike man did the swearing. Imagine the Mumsnet horror/confusion if he was caught in a child and parent space

He is the sort of man who I would think of if I wanted to describe 'British values' . Kind, decent, likes animals, modest and unassuming.

Pity there are not more men around like him.

My mother is currently on a cruise up the Mekong Delta. Should I be alarmed? I haven't heard from her since she was in Hanoi (3 days ago).

I haven't seen Doc Martin since the first couple of series, I don't know why I stopped watching it. I fancy Caroline Catz more than I fancy Martin Clunes though, I especially liked her in Murder in Suburbia. He is a great character actor though, always a pleasure to watch.

I have nothing sensible to add apart from I met him once in Whitby, in about 1998, in a oldfashioned gentleman outfitters type shop where both he and I were both buying flat caps and woolly socks and gloves. We exchanged pleasantries.

I absolutely do not fancy him but I can fully believe he's a nice man. Loved him as Mr Chips. Always blub at that.

I have seen him around town quite often, he always says hello, and nobody seems to have a bad word to say about him. My husband was waiting for me outside Boots one morning with our dogs and Mr Clunes made a great fuss of them. I was soooo disappointed I wasn’t there! And cross with husband for not getting a picture of him with the dogs!

Dawn French didn’t attend ArtsEd. Bonnie Langford? But she is not a comic and a few years younger.

I would totally climb over Neil Morrissey to get to Martin Clunes. Every time I see an interview or hear his voice I want to hurl myself at at his feet and beg him to stroke me like a whippet.

Whilst I would never park in a motorcycle bay clutches pearls I've got to say Martin comes off fairly well. Calm, healthy dose of realism etc. I think he's also shopping free of plastic bags, so an environmental hero as well of course

Oh god I've always detested him, ever since Men Behaving Badly! I can't even put my finger on why. I'm sure he speaks very highly of me though...

I sold him wine a couple of times and he was charming and very down to earth.

I also think Martin handled that well. The other guy was a bit of a prick, tbh. What was the aim of putting it on YouTube? Did he think something so trivial would damage Martin's career or something?

He's definitely aged very well. Grown into his looks :) glad people are saying he's nice!
