I absolutely love Martin Clunes! I fancy him so much even though he’s older than my dad. He’s just seems so nice and funny.
Anyone else?!

He was filming in london once and kinda bumped into (it was raining, i need to look where im going) and he was vvv nice and down to earth.

SparkiePolastri · 05/02/2019 09:26

He looks a little too much like Tony Blair for my likening.

HelloGabriel · 05/02/2019 09:27

Martin Clunes, the new Anthony Head of Mumsnet Grin

He's a fantastic actor, able to play any character so well. . Don't know whether anyone else has seen the remake of Goodbye Mr Chips, where he plays the title role, inc. as a very old man at the end. I don't always care for remakes of classics, but his portrayal was superb.

Also saw him ages ago, playing extremely well a thoroughly unpleasant character in some crime drama or other.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 05/02/2019 09:29

Went to a conference with his Doppelganger. He could have had almost any woman there if he'd wanted.

Spidey66 · 05/02/2019 09:31

Neil Morrissey drinks in my local, he's a friend of a friend, I met him when I arranged to meet said friend in the pub.

LuckyLou7 · 05/02/2019 09:31

Is he on Twitter? I can only find a fan account.

LuckyLou7 · 05/02/2019 09:33

@Spidey66
What's Neil Morrissey like? I like him (though I judge him for the Amanda Holden thing)

primoestate · 05/02/2019 09:33

I worked with him for a number of weeks on a tv series. He is truly the loveliest man.

derxa · 05/02/2019 09:33

Apparently he's going 'to take his wife up the Mekong Delta' He said this to Lorraine this morning so not making it up.

LellowYedbetter · 05/02/2019 09:34

The much loved rather uppity female comedian ... wouldn’t have the initials DF would she? Cos if so I’d second that opinion!

WhatTheNightBrings · 05/02/2019 09:35

Oh how lovely to read a unanimously nice thread about someone in the public eye. Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/02/2019 09:35

I've always loved him as an actor, but didn't fancy him. But now, as he's "grown-into-his-face" I think he has become a surprisingly attractive man.

I'm glad he's just as lovely inside as he appears to be. I thought he was wonderful on that dog programme.

Another guy I like because of his humour and his fabulous attitude to dogs is Clive Anderson. There was a show where celebrities took a rescue dog and were taught how to train it.

At the end, the dogs went back to the kennel - but I read that he and his wife adopted his. If true, that is the loveliest thing I cn think of!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 05/02/2019 09:36

You're right, GETTINGLIKE - his Mr Chips was superb, and that's from someone who thought they'd never improve on the Robert Donat one

Has anyone else seen his "A is for Acid", where he plays the murderer John Christie? Massively recommended if not ...

spiderlight · 05/02/2019 09:36

I got a birthday kiss from Neil Morrissey on my 18th birthday :)

I saw it MOTHER - it was fab. I was weeping!

adaline · 05/02/2019 09:37

DH did some work on his house once about ten years ago - apparently he's lovely and makes great cups of tea!

Spidey66 · 05/02/2019 09:37

LuckyLou he's quite sweet and down to earth. My friend introduced me to him as this is my friend Spidey' but didn't tell me his name. I said ''OMG, you're the spitting image of Neil Morrissey' to which he laughed and said ''No, Neil Morrissey's the spitting image of me.''

The pub is one of those craft beer places but in a not too trendy part of London, he likes going there because he's just seen as one of the lads rather than that bloke who's the voice of Bob the Builder.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/02/2019 09:38

Yes to this, too - another great performance.

StableGenius · 05/02/2019 09:38

I met him while he was out walking his dogs a few years ago. He was v pleasant and friendly.

PoliticalBiscuit · 05/02/2019 09:39

He has definitely aged like a fine wine!

Crystalblue13 · 05/02/2019 09:40

This is great, I hope he knows how popular he is!

My friend and I were out for dinner and MC was at the next table. We recognised him, got his autograph and he was friendly and polite even though we interrupted his meal (oops, wouldn't do that now, but we were v excited to see him)

WhenLifeGivesYouLemonsx · 05/02/2019 09:45

I loved him in Doc Martin and Men Behaving Badly.
