I absolutely love Martin Clunes! I fancy him so much even though he’s older than my dad. He’s just seems so nice and funny.
Anyone else?!

Met him once when he was filming in Cornwall for doc Martin. He patted my dog and said "nice dog". So for that reason alone, I think he's a decent man 😊

VanillaSugarr · 05/02/2019 12:19

Martin Cloon song - epic! Grin

DobbinsVeil · 05/02/2019 12:22

I'm going to be one of those posters who should leave the lovely thread, but instead stays and shouts rabidly at everyone.

He's a QUEUE JUMPER Angry Angry Angry

LuckyLou7 · 05/02/2019 12:36

He was definitely fanciable in Manhunt. One of those geeky guys who get better with age. He comes across as truly lovely - even if he is a queue jumper.

liverbird10 · 05/02/2019 13:15

@DobbinsVeil on her one-woman campign! Grin

DobbinsVeil · 05/02/2019 13:19

Last night my husband was sleep-talking. He said "What are you doing to me, Gary?"

Now I realise he must have been talking about Gary in Men Behaving Badly.
He was QUEUE JUMPING you, Darling.AngrySad

MissKittyBeaudelais · 05/02/2019 13:26

Crystablue no. I was on a different course but, I do remember him being just a decent chap. Very kind. Well mannered.

MissKittyBeaudelais · 05/02/2019 13:28

And the comedienne. I cannot divulge but would say that she was a bully and unkind. Much praised now but I just see “her” in her work. Pretty much type cast, for me.

TheNoodlesIncident · 05/02/2019 13:32

He loves horses too. So as far as I'm concerned, he can jump a queue if he likes.

Ratatouille76 · 05/02/2019 13:38

Aw like this thread. I'm also thinking the comedienne has those initials!! I've always like Martin clunes.

PrivateParkin · 05/02/2019 13:40

I've met him as well - in Port Isaac when he was filming Doc Martin. He had his arm in a fake cast for a scene Grin and he was absolutely lovely to everyone, took photos with us etc. This was about 6-7 years ago and the photo is still on our fridge!

longwayoff · 05/02/2019 13:55

Seems pleasant enough, definitely grown as an actor, and a lover of dogs and horses. Lovely. Don't fancy him but he wouldn't be upset by tha t as old enough to be his mum.

Biggerknickersagain · 05/02/2019 14:07

He's the president of the BHS (British Horse Society) and has a lovely drafty looking horse which he rode in a series a few years ago about horses on ITV I think.
Also we'll documented he loves dogs too.
Lovely man, though I don't fancy him.
used to have a crush on Neil Morrissey though

Honeyroar · 05/02/2019 14:24

Yes when I met him at work I asked him about his horses and ended up talking for half an hour to him and his wife. He really takes an interest in people too, he sent me off to get photos of my horses, it wasn’t by any means him talking about himself. It was a real conversation.

DobbinsVeil · 05/02/2019 14:29

Perhaps he was identifying as a horse when he hurdled to the front of the queue.

StoatofDisarray · 05/02/2019 14:30

7Days Me too. sigh of relief

CoolCarrie · 05/02/2019 21:14

My dm always says when he is on tv” he has grown into his face” , and she is right! Doc Martin always makes me laugh, and I like Caroline Catz as well, she is very good in DCI Banks, totally different from Louisa

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/02/2019 21:20

Actually Dobbins - I'm sure that on another thread last year (one about public face vs private persona of famous people) someone else said he was a bit of a git . . .

Sorry - can't remember the thread and am too thick to know how to search.

(I'm afraid I still like him though because - kind to dogs) Grin

ItsMEhooray · 05/02/2019 21:20

Yeah he's like that lovely funny uncle who puts oil in your car for you sort of bloke.

Klopptimist · 05/02/2019 21:25

Just to agree with PP, A Is For Acid is really good, do try and watch it if you can. And yes, he'd definitely one of those men who has got better looking with age!

I must say, it's nice to have such a positive thread about a sleb for a change Smile

newestbridearound · 05/02/2019 21:27

He lives relatively locally to me and I’ve seen him out a couple of times before doing shopping etc. People left him alone to just get on with his day but I did notice he was happily smiling at anyone who caught his eye. He also does a lot for charity around here; he’s handed out the medals at race for life before and often does things for our local hospice. He just seems like a lovely bloke Smile
