Newborn baby found in a park last night, my heart breaks for both mother and baby.

I know I would not wanted to give birth alone (I presume mum was alone) and without pain relief and medical help.

Baby found abandoned in freezing East Ham park

Sorry that was for @JacquesHammer

ILoveMaxiBondi · 01/02/2019 15:50

There were better options than leaving her in a park in freezing temperatures, however desperate

Maybe not. You don’t know.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 01/02/2019 15:51

some races get rid of girls do they not?

Shock what is wrong with you??

Samcro · 01/02/2019 15:52

i hope the mother is found as she obviously needs help.
thank goodness the baby didn't die.

PurpleTrilby · 01/02/2019 15:56

Jesus wept, I hope some of you are never on a jury. It's actually none of our business to know what has happened to the mother, I hate that presumption that we should all find out the details of others' lives, have it splashed all over the media, because we've apparently got a right to know and a right to judge the poor mother. We've no more right to that than to know the reasons any particular woman has an abortion. People are complex, situations are complex. Judge not when you have no idea about their lives and have never been in such a tragic situation, let alone this unique one. Have a peaceful weekend, all.

Elvia33P · 01/02/2019 15:57

That's heartless. So weird that such news just keeps popping up in the feed... No matter what struggles a person going through there is no way it is justifiable. I'd never do the same. To my child, to any other child.. So sad..

I can't begin to imagine or understand what leads someone to do that, maybe fear, or shock?
But I never truly get why they dont leave them at a hospital, or a Police station? Even a pub? Why outdoors in this weather?

Have you ever been beaten? Ever been threatened with your life or the life of your new born? Ever lived in absolute squalor, Ever been trafficked?

Walk a mile in someone else's shoes before you come out with crap like that?

Oh the irony. How do you know she is a "poor mother". You've made that judgement without any decent info, based on your own pre conceived ideas and prejudices.

She might be a reasonably well off, heartless cow who just couldn't give a stuff. . It's unlikely, but certainly possible.

Don't forget the bit about going on a cruise and being let down by the babysitter....

@thatsmyspace nor does that link!

My concerns are with that baby. And until we know the mothers motive, my sympathy stays with that baby

Thing is that the baby has been found and is physically safe. We don't know what has happened to the mother...if she is safe or if she is even alive. So I think it's natural to worry or just to wonder about that.

thatsmyspace · 01/02/2019 16:10

Go look at the sun, the links aren't working

SummerGems · 01/02/2019 16:11

some races get rid of girls do they not? that is true though however unpalatable. That doesn’t mean it necessarily applies here however without details it could still be a possibility.

I can only imagine that someone who abandons a newborn must be in a bad place, but part of my reasoning for imagining that is that I can’t imagine ever doing so myself, and as such I know that I would have to be in a bad place to abandon a newborn and as such my head says someone else must be as well, iyswim. Because the alternative doesn’t actually bear thinking about.

But let’s be honest some mothers do harm, abuse, even kill their children. Remember a couple of years ago that mother who reported the little boy missing in Scotland I think it was? There was a search, public appeals, outpourings of sympathy for what the mother must be going through, and then it transpired she’d murdered him.

And for some reason even when a mother kills her child people assume there must be some reason relating to her being a victim rather than the reality that sometimes women do kill their children.

There’s a story just come up as a newsflash on my phone actually about a mother of a three year old who has been found guilty of FGM. I wonder how long it will be before she is labelled a victim herself on here....

Charlie97 · 01/02/2019 16:12

@thatsmyspace no thanks, I don't read that shite...

Some people are going to look pretty daft if the heartless cow scenario turns out to be true. That's if we ever find out.

Last2Know · 01/02/2019 16:12

She may not have been the one abandoning it! For all we know the mother is 12 years old and her rapist father has taken the baby from her to avoid being discovered

Oh jesus, this is heartbreaking and entirely possible.

I pray the Mother is safe.

Owwlie · 01/02/2019 16:20

The links work for me.

The baby was 30 minutes old, the umbilical cord was still attached. So wasn't left there long at all before she was found. Makes it likely that the mother gave birth in the park, and then left as she heard people coming.

JacquesHammer · 01/02/2019 16:20

Go look at the sun

Yeah no thanks. Do you have a reputable news source?

Some people are going to look pretty daft if the heartless cow scenario turns out to be true

Why? Presuming someone is innocent until we know the facts isn't the worse character trait Grin that's getting one's news from The Sun

thatsmyspace · 01/02/2019 16:25

There's an interview with the people who found her. Saying how cold and purple she was. It's horrific poor little thing 😢

JacquesHammer · 01/02/2019 16:28

So even if she was a "heartless cow", fuck me poor woman must have been in a state.
