Ok.. so school drop off parkin is tight first come first serve kinda thing
.The road has houses with drives dropped kerbs etc so limited. However one lady is pissing me off.
A person who.lives in the house takes there car off her drive and parks in one of the limited spaces and waits for her friend to come then moves her car so her friend always has a space. Petty i no..but wtf if he friend cant get up early.like the rest of us this isnt our problem isit?? Petty i no. Bad morning.

annoying ... yes

petty .... yes

maybe send flyers to surrounding neighbours asking for a long term friendship! kidding .... nothing like a parking war. look it nothing you can do ... its her driveway. just gotta get their as early as you can.

Escumator · 31/01/2019 09:01

Shes not.parkin on her drive way or even infront thats the thing. If the other lady was parkin across the drive way then cool lucky her for havin a griend in the road. But lady 1 moves her car from her drive to an available.parkin space to save for lazy lady

Seeline · 31/01/2019 09:04

So is 'lazy lady' a school mum?

balls2DWall · 31/01/2019 09:04

so get there really early and park where she usually pulls out! or does she do it night before?

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 31/01/2019 09:05

Get there at 8!! I would.

Escumator · 31/01/2019 09:06

Yes lazy lady is a mum of a child. Im not sure. Im guessing that morning coz her drove way has a sry patch

OP posts:
Escumator · 31/01/2019 09:07

The thing is i have 3 different schools to drop to and this is the last one other wise id get there at 7.45 just to piss her off

OP posts:
Seeline · 31/01/2019 09:07

She probably does it to stop some idiot parking badly and blocking her in. If her friend parks there she is able to access her drive when she wants to.

I would hate to live near a school for this reason. You see such stupid and entitled behaviour at school run time.

Gruzinkerbell1 · 31/01/2019 09:07

First rule of a parking thread is that a diagram is a must.

Seeline · 31/01/2019 09:08

Perhaps lady has mobility issues, or maybe one of her children does?

OnTheHop · 31/01/2019 09:09

It sounds very labour intensive.

Driving to school incurs problems. A huge load of cars descending at once for a drop off really can’t be accomplished without stress.

Shrug and look the other way.

As someone who lives opp a school and who gets fed up with mums who park and block my drive because they're too lazy to walk a few extra yards - I say I don't blame this woman at all.

We also get parents parking on the zig zag lines!

Sirzy · 31/01/2019 09:21

Maybe the friend has mobility problems.

Maybe they friend who lives there is just being nice.

Either way nowt you can do about it. they are parking legally and you just park legally where you can

Valkyries · 31/01/2019 09:21

I used to drive to a school that my friend lived a few doors from - she used to ask me to park across her drive so that she could get her car out when she needed to go - otherwise people would block her in and she didn't know who it was - maybe this woman is doing something like this?

Escumator · 31/01/2019 09:23

No she doesnt allow friend to.park ACROSS her drive its opposite side of the road from her house!!!!

OP posts:
neddle · 31/01/2019 09:23

Loving the cat!

Should she really be parking on the bend like that and why doesn’t friend park in the vacant driveway?

scarbados · 31/01/2019 09:24

After living for 14 years on a narrow cul-de-sac that got completely blocked by entitled school run parents twice a day, to the extent that none of us could get our cars out until they'd all gone and there was no access for emergency vehicles, I think anything that residents do to safeguard their own access is fair enough.

Escumator · 31/01/2019 09:25

Exactly. If shes such a good mate surely allow her to park on her drive for 5 mins. Her drive is big enough for 3 cars the houses are lovely tbh

OP posts:
Samcro · 31/01/2019 09:26

good on her I say. she is helping a friend out.

Escumator · 31/01/2019 09:26

Scarbados she isnt safe guarding her own access though! He drove is still open for other inconsiderate people to park lol

CammieKennaway · 31/01/2019 09:26

Love the "cute stray cat" on the diagram :D

CallMeVito · 31/01/2019 09:28

why shouldn't she do it? She is parking completely legally, you are just jealous. It won't kill you to walk 1 or 2 minutes if you park further.

It sounds like a really nice thing to do for a friend. She can't allow said friend to park blocking the drive, because idiot drivers would see that as an invitation and do that everywhere. Anyone has the right to park legally, you don't have a special right because you do a school drop off.

School parking is a nightmare and most people should just walk but refuse to do so. Their problem.
