To not want a baby shower

I'm just not really bothered by it. I remember when my best friend was having one for her baby thinking what's the point in all this? But my husband is adamant that I will regret not having one...
Will I? Has anyone else felt the same not had one and then regretted it?

I prefer 2nd hand stuff where possible, so would find it wasteful and would be upset that my friends were feeling pressured into spending their hard earned money on unnecessary brand new items.

I have never be a baby shower. I am expecting dc4 and it has become popular within our group to have a surprise one. I hope to god they don't do one for me. Friend just had dc3 had one. I think ah that's nice if it's your first dc. After that....No thanks. I don't like being centre of attention as it is. So fingers crossed they ignore me!!!
