Leaving Neverland, being shown at the Sundance film festival and in the spring on Channel 4....I love his music and have believed he was vilified by the racist media, and by greedy individuals and families after his money; but am really not so sure of his innocence any more. I guess that's my aibu- that we have to listen to his accusers don't we? I was sexually abused as a ternager, and not believed. It was a profoundly damaging experience.

"Even after death, people in society are so messed up that they can't accept someone as pure & innocent as MJ, they have to misinterpret every innocent thing he did."

Confused If you truly think Jackson was 'pure and innocent', you are too far gone and messed up with brainwashing and star dust in your eyes you lack the ability to reason and think. smdh Confused

@pollysproggle

"He was a very rich man and had the capacity to shower anyone with gifts and money, he could afford every extravagance."

You as well are so far gone you will go to any lengths to excuse anything. And create an answer for anything, even if it is flimsy and has a tenuous grip to reality.

Howismovingbungalow do u drink coffee? That's a drug.*

Omfg! Just when I thought I saw every childish desperate manoeuvre and grasp at an excuse. Just.... (head-desk)

SalemtheBIackCat · 28/01/2019 21:37

"frankiesamson

To all who judge him here:

Before you judge him, try hard to love him, and within your hearts... then ask, have you seen his childhood?"

Repeating song lyrics? Far gone. So far gone and brainwashed. The koolaid is that way. ----> Please don't drink it.

pollysproggle · 28/01/2019 21:37

@SalemtheBIackCat
Ok, you're entitled to your opinion on me from what I've said. Doesn't make it true though does it?

That was in response to someone saying all the wealth laid out was to bribe children. I'm saying it wasn't and was just his lifestyle. I also said the extravagance wasn't just given to children but adults too. More facts.

SalemtheBIackCat · 28/01/2019 21:40

@pollysproggle "it's about the fact people think it's always MJ with one singled out young boy all of the time when in fact it isn't."

The vast overwhelming majority of the time it was boys only, and most times with one single boy. I think most of us can acknowledge that.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 28/01/2019 21:43

Why is it an impossible question to answer Polly?

It is either yes or no.

pollysproggle · 28/01/2019 21:47

@HowlsMovingBungalow
It's impossible for me as I'm not in that situation under the same circumstances and I'm not the same people as the parents, and of course he's dead now.
Currently do I let my children sleep in bed with adult pop stars/adults of any kind other than myself and DH? The answer would be no if that helps.

MrsChollySawcutt · 28/01/2019 21:48

Blimey, the lengths some people are willing to go to in order to avoid the obvious facts that MJ was a predatory paedophile is staggering.

I'm watching 'Abducted in Plain Sight' on Netflix right now. It's a fascinating insight into the levels of deception and manipulation (of the entire family) that a man like that will go to to get access to their selected child victim.

SalemtheBIackCat · 28/01/2019 21:48

@anitagreen "I was always under the impression that because he lost out on his childhood he wanted to recreate his childhood for the rest of his adult years"

Yes, that was the blind, the cover, the false narrative he created to hide in plain sight.

southeastdweller · 28/01/2019 21:48

And create an answer for anything, even if it is flimsy and has a tenuous grip to reality.

You mean like you and the tape being faked?

pollysproggle · 28/01/2019 21:49

@SalemtheBIackCat
If you've done your research and that is the conclusion you've drawn from it then ok.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 28/01/2019 21:50

And why do you not let your children sleep in the bed of a adult albeit a random one or a famous popstar ?

SalemtheBIackCat · 28/01/2019 21:51

"@frankiesamson

anitagreen so in other words ur quick to judge"

I think most normal people would be quick to judge an adult having sleepovers with unrelated children. Confused It scares me you might actually think that it shouldn't be judged.

Btw, NOBODY is completely perfectly innocent. The fact he touched himself on stage and made sexual movements shows he was not some 'perfectly innocent' person....

pollysproggle · 28/01/2019 21:53

@HowlsMovingBungalow
I've never been presented with that situation.

SalemtheBIackCat · 28/01/2019 21:57

@EnoughSnowAlready "I've always thought that the only people more batshit than MJ were his most ardent fans. This thread proves it"

It truly does. Some of the excuses and attempts at justification on here defy cognitive dissonance and simple basic human common sense. There are some very sick and disturbed people out there, I truly find it scary how desperate people are to cling onto their starry-eyed view of a famous person. Some of these posts just disturb and frighten me on not just a human level and primal level, but on levels I never knew.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 28/01/2019 22:05

But WHAT would you do Polly, if faced with that situation?

Yes or No - it is quite simple.

TitchyP · 28/01/2019 22:12

"Not all kindness towards children leads back to something sinister. Some people just love kids and want to be around them because they make them happy.
In this day it seems inconceivable that anyone would want to be around children (especially men) without someone raising an eyebrow."

I work with kids, I like them (mostly😀) and I genuinely enjoy their company. I do not, however, invite them for 'sleepovers' or prance around my garden holding hands with them.

MissLanesAmericanCousin · 28/01/2019 22:20

WatchingFromTheSidelines, thank you for your kind words and thoughts. Yes, I am now surrounded by much love and I am finally safe. My husband is a big part of that. My sister and I have since made up, and she has since apologized. I have not spoken to my brother in over 20 years.

I do agree with your post, in regards to victims not coming forward. Most sexual abuse victims and victims of rape are very scared to come forward. They are scared of the intense pressure and being ripped apart in court. This why I chose not to go against my brother in a court of law. I did however, tell him that if he ever felt like doing that to another child and if he couldn't get help for it, then he should just buy a gun and kill himself. I then hung up the phone. I also told wife everything too.
I am going to stay away from this thread now, as it is making me feel physically ill. Especially, because there are about 2 or 3 specific posters who I find incredibly disturbing. They come across as pedophilia apologists. According to my therapist, the main problem with pedos, is that they do not feel guilt or remorse for what they do, They actually think kids like it. It is so ingrained in them. That is why they are so hard to treat. I think that they are the very worst of society and I do not believe that they can be rehabilitated. At least now with the therapy we have.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again for your concern and warmth. Like I said, earlier, I am leaving this thread, but I hope to see you on other threads. Your response was very kind. Flowers

pollysproggle · 28/01/2019 22:23

@HowlsMovingBungalow
It's not simple and you're only asking me for two possible outcomes.

Answer Yes - you would let your son sleep in an adult males bed?! Must be something wrong with you/bad parent/idiot/pedo enabler.

Answer No - See- it's ok for you to defend with someone else's child etc etc but you wouldn't let your own child do it so you must suspect he's guilty blah blah.

I've said I can't answer the question. That is my answer because I can't say a definite yes or no.
Why are you not accepting my answer and why do you think what I would do in that situation has any bearing on what parents already did and did willingly in that situation?
I've already said I don't defend the bed sharing.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 28/01/2019 22:33

Yup.

Some of these posters on here are batshit.

joystir59 · 28/01/2019 22:39

I really wanted to believe he was innocent, and read everything I could read, reams of it. I had to conclude that there is just too much evidence that he him fits the paedophile model.

@HowlsMovingBungalow
Good answer 👍🏼

SalemtheBIackCat · 28/01/2019 22:54

@pollysproggle You've already shown that you won't say no, because you know it will make you look bad defending him, hence, you choose no answer at all. That's a cop-out and you know it. That you're too stubborn to say no and you admit it is because your argument will completely fall apart because of option 2). That is cowardice. But it does say everything. You won't answer. You can, but you decide you won't answer to avoid saving face.

SalemtheBIackCat · 28/01/2019 22:55

Ugh, to save face, not avoid saving face. Sorry.
