AIBU - Pets are stupid!

Just for fun, what’s the weirdest thing which has scared your pet for no apparent reason. Tonight I learnt while walking my puppy a shadow is scary! After reassurance he’s ok, no counselling needed but wondered what others have experienced with their amazingly eccentric pets?

I was talking to a fellow dog walker who told me when her dog was a pup she was walking past a florist with a display of daffodils outside, a gust of wind blew over the 'A' board on the pavement which landed with a loud bang... ever since then the dog has been terrified of daffodils!

The man servicing the alarm nearly fell on ddog when he was a puppy. For a while he was frightened of all men bar dh. I’ve slowly got him to face his fear. Now he is frightened of tall or larger men.

He is actually frightened of anything out of place. Full on freaked when the small cage thing, which had fallen off the top of the rain water drain on the flat roof was beside the back door. When the poo bin on the field was moved, he freaked and wouldn’t go within 50 metres of it. The next day he completely ignored it. I decided to move his crate a few metres and put him inside it. Full scale panic. He couldn’t cope with the plastic collar after castration. Refused to move so I had to buy him a little coat, which covers everything.

We got new sofas in the kitchen, where I spend most of my time. At first I thought I’d not let him on there except he didn’t know what to do when I was in the living room (open plan) and decided the best place to be was on the bed, where I also spend a lot of time. Dog now has his spot and is happy. Perish the thought he’d actiually go in his crate.

It’s windy today and a few leaves blew across the path we were walking. Immediate bolt for home
