I've always been skinny / slim but after 2 kids I've suddenly realised I'm not any more following a run in with the scales at the doctors surgery Confused.

I think I have a rare form of body dismorphia where I think I'm skinnier than I am Grin. No idea what size etc I am now. I'm 5ft 8 and 11st 4lb. I have previously always been around the 9.5 stone mark.

Finding it difficult to lose the baby weight after #2 as there is NO TIME! Any tips?

I'm 36, have two DC under 3, 5"4 and around 8 stones.. But I wouldn't say I was particularly healthy at the moment. Eat a healthy dinner every day and I do try and have a proper breakfast and lunch but sometimes I just snack/pick.

I have always been quite slim though and I have a small frame. Think I must have a fast metabolism. And basically we're in a townhouse and I'm constantly running up and down the two flights of stairs carrying either a (heavy) baby or toddler or both (they have my DH's weight genes). When I was super fit and healthy (obviously pre-DC) and running many miles a week I was probably around 7 stone 10.

Silversun83 · 22/01/2019 14:12

Oh! And an 8-10.

IlluminatiParty · 22/01/2019 14:12

I mean the big tubs of powder btw not the individual cartons - Hollond & Barrett have a good range.

Conseulabananahammock · 22/01/2019 14:14

I'm an inch shorter than you and at that weight I was a size 10! It really depends on your body shape and how you carry weight. I went down to 9.5 stone once and people thought I was seriously ill. My usual pre baby weight was just under 12 stone and I'm 5ft 7. I usually wore size 10 on top and size 12 on the bottom. Carry my weight on my legs mostly, very skinny shoulders and flat chest.
Since having my baby 5 months ago I piled on weight and am currently a size 14/16 at 14 stone exactly. I'm going to have to start to do something about that soon!

@IlluminatiParty yes I have! They helped me when I was also eating 5 meals a day but whenevEr I stopped eating that amount I would instantly drop again and start all over. Very very annoying that I can't keep weight on! I'll probably start having some again. Any recommendations??

alltheusernames · 22/01/2019 14:20

5'5 9st7 size 10

I recently lost over 20lb, it's amazing how it creeps on over the years. I lost it doing MFP calorie counting last summer, I found it really easy actually but really struggling to motivate myself to get to 9 stone. I think winter is trickier.

lovely36 · 22/01/2019 14:21

@Conseulabananahammock hi Idk how to pm you but I'd love any tips. I'm sick of being so skinny. People constantly think I'm 12 and my face looks sunk it, it's awful.

evilharpy · 22/01/2019 14:21

Moonbells I've always looked a bit lighter than my weight, I don't know if it's because I'm pear shaped or am naturally quite muscular. I have a friend who is an apple shape and who has (like me) yo yo dieted over the years, and when we are the same size I'm a full stone heavier than her.

youdialwetile · 22/01/2019 14:23

I spent years after my youngest was born heavier than I wanted to be, but couldn't lose the weight.

Finally something clicked and I lost around 30lb. Things that worked for me:

  1. Stopped drinking alcohol.
  2. Limited carbs - did not cut them out entirely but are less of them.
  3. Ate salad or vegetables in place of carbs.
  4. Worked out more.

Losing weight is boring - I have 5lb to lose after overindulging at Christmas. But once you get started, it feels good. It's the getting started that's hard for me.

alltheusernames · 22/01/2019 14:23

@QforCucumber it's so strange how different we all carry weight. I'm the same height and when I was 10st7 I was a 12 pushing into a 14!

Tiredandemotional123 · 22/01/2019 14:26

Im a pear shape so my top half stays skinny and my arse just grows behind me...maybe why I didn't notice the extra weight 😂

Might give my fitness pal a try for calorie counting or is there a better app?

There’s one of these threads at LEAST once a week Hmm

lemonface · 22/01/2019 14:31

5'6 9st 3

8 on top 10/12 on the bottom

29 waist

My top half is slender and I have abs

My bottom half is all hips and cellulite

Like two different people!

EvaGraceMummy2015 · 22/01/2019 14:32

I'm 5,9 and 14 stone 11lbs 😊 I'm a size 12-14, lucky though as I'm a 🍐 and carry all my weight on my hips and bum (much to DP's liking 🙈) and have a small upper body and stomach.. sometimes wish I was a few stone lighter but I think with a 3 year old and 13 week old twins I'm looking pretty well considering 😊 learning more and more to love myself (after many years of hating my weight)

feelingverylazytoday · 22/01/2019 14:33

I'm 5'4" and weigh just over 10 stones. I'm a size 12 at the moment but my trousers are getting a bit big so I'm probably going to be size 10 soon at least on the bottom half. Pretty pleased with myself, because this is the smallest I've been for 18 years.

MrsChuckBass · 22/01/2019 14:43

5'1 and size 6
Weigh 47kg

Bringbackthestripes · 22/01/2019 14:47

5ft 9 and 10 stone 9. Clothes have me to believe I am a size 12 HOWEVER I know that is down to vanity sizing as I was a slim size 12 in my youth when I was a stone lighter.

I was looking at a vintage sewing pattern (70’s) and according the the measurements I should be wearing size 16 trousers Shock

Shodan · 22/01/2019 14:57

5'8", age 50, 12 st 8 and anything from a size 10 (waist size only) to a 14 (jackets, shirts etc).

Very lucky in that a) I'm a classic hourglass, so my waist is small and my tummy flat (food babies excepted) so I can kid myself into believing I'm still the slim thing I was 10 years ago and b) DP seems to be very fond of my larger bottom Blush

Age, though, is a real bugger. I don't eat any differently from how I've always done but now it stays on as weight instead of disappearing...

tappitytaptap · 22/01/2019 14:59

9.5 stone and 5ft 8. Weirdly the baby weight from #2 melted off after a couple of months as this is my pre baby weight. I breastfed them both so must be chasing after a toddler/ having less time to sit and eat cake?!

tappitytaptap · 22/01/2019 15:00

Oh and size 10 mostly, sometimes 8 in tops

GinDaddy · 22/01/2019 15:02

Like a previous poster said, this is a curious thread. Namely because the people who will post will invariably be sizes 8-12, in the median BMI range etc; it won’t reflect the UK average or anything close to it.
