I've always been skinny / slim but after 2 kids I've suddenly realised I'm not any more following a run in with the scales at the doctors surgery Confused.

I think I have a rare form of body dismorphia where I think I'm skinnier than I am Grin. No idea what size etc I am now. I'm 5ft 8 and 11st 4lb. I have previously always been around the 9.5 stone mark.

Finding it difficult to lose the baby weight after #2 as there is NO TIME! Any tips?

Tinty that's interesting - I mean, I think I was very close to what they wouldn't allow, but not quite - I think it was something like 7st 12?

newnameforthis7 · 22/01/2019 13:04

I am 79 stone, a size 2, and I eat an apple a year.

I weighed 3 stone at full term pregnancy.

I swim 900 miles a week, I walk to work (live in London and work in Rome,) and I spent eleventy twelve hours a week in the gym.

Tunnocks34 · 22/01/2019 13:05

5’7” and 9 stone normally (currently pregnant)

I don’t look skinny, but I am naturally slim.

Tunnocks34 · 22/01/2019 13:06

I am a size 6/8 btw

halfwitpicker · 22/01/2019 13:06

5'5, size 10, 137lbs.

ComtesseDeSpair · 22/01/2019 13:07

@RiverTam @Tinty - I have a healthy BMI, give blood regularly, run ultramarathons, am a competitive triathlete, have the pushing power of a small tank. Sure, some people might look at me and say “too skinny”; but that’s purely an aesthetic judgement.

These threads always bring up a huge range of results - people who say they are told they look skeletal at the same height and weight as people who say they have rolls of fat; people of the same height and weight but two or three dress sizes different etc.

itsallgravybaby · 22/01/2019 13:08

I'm 5'8" and weigh 18 and a half stone (yeah I know Shock I'm working on it!)

I'm a size 18-20 but closer to 18. When I was 1.5 stone heavier I was a comfortable 20 but wearing stretchy clothes so it's not the best indicator.

ComtesseDeSpair · 22/01/2019 13:08

Basically, physiology is marvellously unique!

ChoudeBruxelles · 22/01/2019 13:09

Oh well I’m 5’8” and about 95kg. I’m a size 16. OP you are not over weight. I’m overweight but have gradually been losing size (I don’t weigh myself very often) over the past few months. Size is now a bit loose but 14 still too small whereas a few months ago 16 was tight

GreyTS · 22/01/2019 13:09

Am 5'3, weigh 52kgs, am 41 and have 2 children and wear a size 8/10, or more recently an xs in lots of shops. I run a lot, and do a couple of hiit classes a week but when my kids were v small I did dvd/YouTube core and yoga workouts in the evening when they slept, had a awful case of separated abs and a c section overhang that I fixed this way. Also have an ancient (1990's 😂) stationary bike that I use if it's impossible to get out

Seline · 22/01/2019 13:14

Size 10-12.

5"6 140lbs.

Haisuli · 22/01/2019 13:18

5'4, size 14, 155lbs.
I'm 45.
I am another one who has a naturally thin frame and believes self still to be skinny. I get a shock when I see myself in photos because I am not big boned or big boobed so the weight doesn't sit well on me.
This being the case I am properly calorie counting and determined for the first time ever in my life. So far have lost 4lbs since Jan 3rd.

Tiredandemotional123 · 22/01/2019 13:18

Thanks for sharing everyone. I've done couch to 5k and manage a very slow 5k run a couple of times a week. Rest of the time I'm too knackered in the evenings. Baby only settles for me...have late dinners after the kids are in bed etc.

I'm focussing on diet atm and cutting out unhealthy snacks (may have over indulged in cake during pregnancy / post birth). Have made a note of my measurements too see if I lose any inches. Don't want to buy bigger clothes Sad

I'm 5'3 and hover around 9-9 1/2 stone. 13 weeks pregnant at the mo and scoffing some crisps! Have put on about 4/5lb so far (much faster that I did in my first pregnancy!).

bridgetreilly · 22/01/2019 13:20

What do you mean there is NO TIME? There's plenty of time.

mando12345 · 22/01/2019 13:21

I'm 5'8" and 9 stone 11 lbs.
Im normally a 10 in most shops but a 12 in top shop or whistles or similar more high fashion shops.

heeblejeeble · 22/01/2019 13:21

5 ft 8 and 12 stone 5.
I'm definitely overweight but I guess because I'm tall it doesn't look too bad. It's all on my belly though so clothes don't look good at the moment.

I'm working on getting to 10 stone eventually but slowly, eating well and walking 10,000 steps a day or more.
Oh and it's piled on after baby number 3 but he's nearly a year old so I can't blame him anymore really!

Sproutsandall · 22/01/2019 13:22

I’m 5’11” and 71kg (around 11 stone 2). A 14-16 on top, and a 10-12 on bottom.

I’m happy enough with my weight and size, but I’d like to get fitter.

ComtesseDeSpair · 22/01/2019 13:23

@Tiredandemotional123 - keep it up. It might be slow progress, but you’ll start to notice it soon enough. Definitely focus on measurements, and don’t weigh yourself more than once a week at most, as it’s notnal to fluctuate and can be really demotivating if you think you’ve gained.

Tinty · 22/01/2019 13:23

RiverTam

I expect they could quite happily have a pint and half now Grin.

Seriously though when I was 8 Stone I had a 23" waist. I now have a 26" waist, which I don't think is too bad at 47.

ComtesseDeSpair Up to a point I think you are right that we don't see fat in the same way, and everybody is different. For example, you are 5"? taller than me and weigh similarly to my weight when I was young. You should look really skinny at that much taller, but maybe you don't. Do you have a really tiny frame. I actually am medium build, I have wide wrists and ankles.

When I was 8 stone I looked ok, but when I had my DS, I only put on 10lbs and he was a hungry baby and fed a lot so I went down to 7 stone 5lbs after he was born and I looked terrible. Sucked in cheeks, breast bones sticking out, and really prominent ribs and hip bones.

Plabom · 22/01/2019 13:24

5'1, 8 stone 10bs, size 10-12. :)

Used to be 14 stone at heaviest, (6 years ago) and size 22.

Blondie1993 · 22/01/2019 13:24

5ft 8 and 9 and a half stone, size 8. Only have one DS who is 7 and I'm only 25. Always been naturally slim but so was my mum and her metabolism changed when she was mid 30s so don't think it will last forever!

itssquidstella · 22/01/2019 13:25

5'11" and 10 stone 6 lbs.

I'd love to be 10 stone but I like food and wine too much!

80sMum · 22/01/2019 13:25

I'm 8st 6lb. For tops I am 8 or 10. For bottoms I am 10 or 12.

Tiredandemotional123 · 22/01/2019 13:25

@bridgetreilly no time due to the demands of small children and a partner who works late. I fit bits of exercise in here and there but it's not enough. With baby #1 I was able to go to more classes which I found motivating but none fit in with our timings now.
