Theresa May has shown lots of autocratic tendencies! She’s not as “stand at a podium and say the quiet part out loud” about it but she’s still displayed a willingness to ignore proper procedures to get what she wants.

I’ll stop derailing the trump thread though Smile

I don't think that's a derail, Pain. Helps us keep an eye on the bigger picture.

The lost art of compromise. A Beast piece.

AcrossthePond55 · 28/01/2019 15:13

I agree Perking. It also helps those of us here to feel we aren't so alone, that other countries also have their troubles with wrong-headed voters and authoritarian leaders.

Anniegetyourgun · 28/01/2019 18:13

It's all worryingly interlinked, what with Bannon whizzing around (on whose behalf?) dripping poison into ears left, right and centre - well, not so much left or centre, more right, further right and Alt Right.

Sneaky.

www.newsweek.com/trump-shutdown-wall-winning-democrats-mulvaney-1306838

'Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney claimed President Donald Trump decided to go back on his previous pledge not to reopen the government without funding for his border wall because Democrats said he was "winning the battle."

During a segment on Fox News Sunday, fill-in host John Roberts began his interview with Mulvaney by asking him whether Trump “caved” to Democrats when he ended the shutdown earlier this week.'

We have the heavy mob in... John Bolton and Mnuchin

cozietoesie · 28/01/2019 20:52

Bolton won't enjoy being put on the spot - if he is. Wink

Just in: Judge in Virginia CANCELS Feb. 8th sentencing for Paul Manafort. "Bc it appears that resolution of the current dispute in defendant's prosecution in DC may have some effect on the sentencing decision in this case, it is prudent and appropriate to delay sentencing."
Manafort was convicted by a Virginia jury of multiple counts of subscribing to
