I've not seen purple pavements on here since Sad it was awful. She had nowhere to turn and took the abuse because it was the only connection she felt she had with her son.

If you're there purplepavements then I hope you're ok

Where is the thread with the villagers and the parish letter and the rubbish?

I haven't had time to read whole thread so apologise if this was mentioned.
One that stayed with me was... the woman that sat for days in her car, watching the OP's house. There was all sorts of speculation as I recall, from Mumsnetters. In the end the OP confronted her, invited her in. Turned out the woman's DH was having an affair (or she suspected) - I think she'd checked his satnav? She thought it was the OP, it was established it wasn't. Though the OP did know who he was as walked past him before walking the dog. The woman was basically sitting out there for days trying to catch him out at whatever house it was. I don't know what the outcome was and if she ever caught him out.
It was just a really sad and desperate situation I thought

Zucker I always remember that poster too - it was GettingBigger I think. She did get away, and she posted once she’d left, but not seen her about in years. I always hope she manages to stay away and is happy now!

The one with the guy who would always come and shit in the OPs office toilet.

She was a tutor or something and he'd shit every time she was teaching his daughter.

Then he even came in to shit when his daughter wasn't with her. Even though she put up a "staff only" sign and he had to go past public loos in the building etc to get to the toilet.

Weird. But I was always clinging on for more updates!

There was an old thread I can't remember the subject of that when it got bumped, a couple of years after being started, proved that a poster was a troll. I cannot remember the poster but they used to do very short sentence responses and lived in a one bed flat in London with their partner and two children? I remember being surprised by that!

The current AIBU thread where the OP is considering cleaning her loo brushes in her dishwasher, and a poster pops up to say she already does it. A thread on MN about loo brushes was always going to be busy and never going to end well.

Did they ever find out what was in the safe?

The poor lady who was made to eat paper by her husband...in front of her children.
I can probably guess she is still with him. I think about her post often and hope she managed to safely leave with her kids.

I come with news of the villagers/anonymous letter/rubbish dumping thread I mentioned in pps. I have since found the first thread in Classics, and the OP was FlybirdFly. The follow on thread was in Chat and seems to have gone pfft unfortunately.

The second thread as far as I can recall was pulled as things had taken a serious turn in real life and the OP feared it being seen and was wary of divulging further details

Silvery not just you. Cesar Milan is pretty controversial in dog training circles. Some of his behind the scenes videos are awful. He uses outdated "dominance" training methods. Look at someone like Zak George on YouTube or Victoria Stilwell's programmes for a more ethical alternative.

Recent post I remember was the lady who was to sit beside her abusive ex at her sons wedding. Did we get an outcome on that?

The one that sticks in my mind was a lady who was in an abusive marriage and basically had nothing to her name. She had a mentally ill daughter who had been sectioned and she had to travel miles to see her. Throughout her posts she slowly gained the courage to leave him but he had turned the daughter against her. It was brutally sad . I still worry for her and hope she got peace from all the crap in her life.
My favourite funny ones were the "your minge" one and the dinosaurs against christianity.

The one that really made me laugh was a baby name thread.

OP had a shortlist of two really ‘usual’ names - think Jack and George - and a third option of ‘Balonz’, and was asking opinions.

I think OP was originally from elsewhere. No idea if she was winding us up, or someone was winding her up, but apparently someone had told her that Balonz was a classic British boy’s name on a par with the other two options. The responses were hilarious.

It was a wind-up, but a harmless, lighthearted - and absolutely hilarious - one. Thoroughly recommended to all who haven't yet seen it - although you might struggle to understand what's so unusual about it if you're from Surrey.

It also made the baby name meanings page!

Antique ram castrator ran to a filled-up thread and more than a half-full second one:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3106500-CF-friend-or-AIBU

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3108140-CF-Friend-the-antique-ram-castrator-Part-2

Also, the one where the extremely rich PILs sent their DIL an invoice after she broke a ridiculously expensive wine glass:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3239370-PIL-has-sent-be-a-bill-for-a-broken-wine-glass?pg=1&messages=100

Like so many of the CF threads, they're hilarious from an outsider's point of view, but you have to feel so sorry for the folk who actually have to live or work with these people. Wine glass lady especially seemed to have been left feeling so desolate from it all.

More memorable than shocking as such, but threads that stay in my mind are the one posted around Xmas 2016 which I think was titled "Aibu to want to run away" or something similar about a young woman with a toddler (I think or he may have been a baby) and she was dying of cancer....it was so sad and there were lots if long gaps between her posts. I often think of her and hope she's still with us

Oh yes , I remember that poster , she said something like "today is my 25th birthday and it is likely to be my last" , she had a young child but changed the He to She in the thread so got a load of Hmm comments.
