Just that really, I love reading classics but thought I'd see if anyone remembered any others that we particularly funny/shocking/ full of CFs etc...

OP posts:
Cakecrumbsinmybra · 19/01/2019 02:40

The current one where the OP allegedly called a work colleague, to his face, ^a repulsive old cunt', before proceeding to a character assassination

Shocking in a work place sort of way, but nothing compared to the stories of domestic abuse on here. I am continually hoping the posters get out of their awful situations.

Weezermum · 19/01/2019 03:04

The one about the woman who found out her DH was cheating on her as he was logged into FB messenger on their joint computer (or similar) and could read the repulsive messages he was writing to OW in real time as he sat in a different room to her. She then responded to the conversation to let them know their secret was out. It made me feel sick. I don’t know what happened in the end

Weezermum · 19/01/2019 03:05

And obviously i hope the OP is ok now (and well rid of DH)

Chickenwings85 · 19/01/2019 03:24

Shamelessly place marking.

BritishRail · 19/01/2019 03:43

The one by poster Babynamechange about her son and custody battle with her abusive ex. Does anyone know how it concluded?

The lady who had a son but wished it was a girl to the point she really didn't like her little boy, she was very glamorous and rich so she said and she had many threads on the topic

These are probably from 2011/12/13 ish?

It's easy to spot trolls as things happen much too fast. The real shocking and sad stories are slow burners. E.g Fixing - my child needs a transplant, my child has now died, my other child now needs one, now I'm pregnant, all in the space of no time at all. It was obvious trolling to me

BritishRail · 19/01/2019 04:27

Also the fish tank in the living room/ lights one. I never caught how that concluded

sirmione16 · 19/01/2019 05:10

@Weezermum I remember this one! He was in the shower messaging dirty stuff to the woman, OP packed his bags whilst it was going on and when he got out the shower she was calmly sat on the bed and told him where the f to go and then put a message in the chat to them both like "well this is nice"

She was SO calm and sassy with it, I hope I'd react like she did. She needed emotional support after and said she was shaking and sick but in the moment, she bloody slayed it!!

Weenurse · 19/01/2019 06:49

Blatant place marking

DameSquashalot · 19/01/2019 06:50

I loved the Sharon/wine thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1212449-dh-threw-wine-at-the-wall

Lemon drizzle is one of the funniest, I think.

The Ollie's Army thread really shocked me when MNHQ revealed it was a troll.

DameSquashalot · 19/01/2019 07:19

Actually, I don't think the lemon drizzle is the thread I'm thinking of Confused. There was another really funny thread about a cake.

pictish · 19/01/2019 07:23

Oh yes...the fish tank and the lights thread. I do wonder if OP is still sitting bathed in ultraviolet blue with her head pounding.
That was terrible...her dh was an absolute prick.

crispysausagerolls · 19/01/2019 07:55

sirmione16

Can you link it please?

pootleposeyperkin · 19/01/2019 08:46

Anything by Beanie, usually involving diamonds, private jets and norland nannies

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 19/01/2019 09:09

@OhDearGodLookAtThisMess not any more....

decemberfrost · 19/01/2019 09:27

The dettol cat one did me in the other day. I had to hide the thread pretty sharpish, and I couldn't sleep for thinking about it. Imagine finding out your DP is capable of such an evil act?

I have cats (3 actually,) and I love them so much. I swear I'd do time for them if any fucker harmed a single hair on their little bodies.

I pray that dettol cat recovered, and the OP had the courage to leave the horrible bastard who attacked her cat. Sad😢🐱

pilates · 19/01/2019 09:45

^
Yes the cat is ok. The poster has name changed due to thread published in a newspaper.

Thurmanmurman · 19/01/2019 10:04

There was a thread about how you knew your parents loved you as a child and although there were some lovely responses one poster told the story of how her abusive mother on her deathbed told her to look in the wardrobe to see what she means to her. The poster found years worth of unopened birthday gifts she had sent her mother. I found that post very upsetting.

Fightthebear · 19/01/2019 10:13

@onlyyellow

So pleased to hear catboy is home and well 😁

Lycanthropology · 19/01/2019 10:15

Not shocking, exactly, but there are a couple that kept me wondering how they turned out in the end:

OP discovered that a friend of a friend, who was a GP, had illegally accessed her medical notes. That person was begging the OP not to report her as it was a one off , and she'd lose her job. Everyone advised her to report, because no way would it be a one off, and was horrifically unprofessional. The OP thanked MN for the advice and said she'd made a decision about what to do. Didn't say what, which is fair enough, but a bit frustrating!

Similarly another poster had had a phone call on a Friday from her DS's school to say two teachers had been suspended for writing public comments about her DS on social media! Someone had seen and reported. They hadn't said what had been written, just asked her to come for a meeting on the Monday. Was so awful because she didn't know what was going on or what unacceptable stuff they written about her child. OP never told us what happened at the meeting. Fair enough, not our business, but kept me wondering!

Biologifemini · 19/01/2019 10:15

Some of the step parent ones where they blame the kid for their awful behaviour and wonder why they are difficult when they hooked up with someone and they have little interest in the child.

Lycanthropology · 19/01/2019 10:21

Another WTF one was a poster had kindly let a friend stay in her house for several days as she had business in the area. Despite this kindness, the CF friend put a trip advisor style review of her stay on Facebook, rating her stay as 2/10! One of her complaints was that the OPs husband was boring! She actually expected to stay again after that, too.
Felt so angry and indignant for the OP.

AuntieAunt · 19/01/2019 10:23

One a few years ago (might of been last Christmas) when OP had to get her colleague a secret santa present but the only info we had on the colleague was that she was a lesbian. Actually the most funniest thread I have ever read on here - I think OP was very straight laced and didn't like the suggestions of dildos, vibrators, calendars (but poster wrote Collenders) and other lesbians putting what they wanted for Christmas Michael Buble CD, trampoline socks, link to handbags etc. I think it ended with a poster writing all the possible silly gifts to the 12 days of Christmas. Absolute gold but was deleted and I've not been able to find it anywhere else online.

Also the one with Spanish Nan? OP had came home to find that the flat next to her had put in patio doors to her garden - I think there were 4 threads of updates but nothing since - I do wonder what happened next?

AlexaAmbidextra · 19/01/2019 10:31

Says upthread that she was a troll. ☹️

There was one here some while ago from a poster called Mrs (something or other) who had a very controlling husband who wanted to keep her barefoot and pregnant to the extent of sabotaging condoms. He’d done a good job as she was strangely passive and accepting and it was apparent that she’d never take any of the good advice on offer. I think she even had very limited access to money and transport and couldn’t even go to the GP on her own. I often wondered if she ever managed to change her situation or if she’s still living under his oppressive regime.

TerriTummyTowels · 19/01/2019 10:35

In terms of "shocking" the was the one where the woman was having consensual sex with her DH and then at the very last second asked him to stop just before he ejaculated, he finished, everyone convinced her it was a full on rape and she ended up at the police and all sorts. Very sad thread and a real example of MNers egging a poor woman on.
