Well of the two UnDeadPool you'd like it would be.

The other being about someone being in a place the day before a murder thinking that she and the person she was with that day (after who wasn't with her in the place the day before) were almost murdered.

But the puffy one doesn't mention Savernake Forest. Also offer still if you search "sinuous deeper" (a phrase in the story that i think will have fewest hits) there's no original post. It's just a copy and paste block of text in threads.

Weird.

I thought the savernake Forest one started with a puppy escaping and the op having to look for it?
I’m not ‘woo’ at all but that story sent shivers down my spine whether it was true or not

That's what's confusing me pictish.

The one everyone has linked to is linking (and referencing the post/poster) to is the story about someone who was somewhere that there was a murder the day they weren't there. Also her post isn't referenced to by anyone else afterwards (I tjink, only did a quick scan).

Then the spooky one copied into here doesn't mention Savernake Forest. So why has that become 'the Savernake Forest one' (unless it's mentioned later in the thread of course)?

I'd agree with you that it was imagination. Grew up next to a big wood, they can evoke a lot.

The “woman who screamed at paintings thread”
and the baby name Balonz thread were both trolls.

Doesn’t matter, still 2 of the funniest threads I’ve read on MN. That kind of trolling I can live with.

The Savernake Forest story is, to my mind, the poster allowing her imagination to get the better of her (easily done) and nothing more. It’s well told though, I’ll give her that. I like a spooky story as much as the next person but their basis in reality are nil. There are no evil entities hiding in the dark in Savernake Forest.

I’m confused at the Savernake Forest thing.

Is it the story about the dog and hearing a voice (don’t think Savernake Forest is mentioned - despite it being copied into this thread several times) or the one where the poster said she was almost murdered there because someone was murdered there the day after she’d be there?

Any shocking thread for me is one where there’s abuse involved. It’s shocking what others go through. (And where it turns out to be a troll it’s shocking anyone would make up that they were being abused.)

Lovely not lo let!

How was the Korean lady thread racist? It was a lo let thread.

Korean lady was a racist thread?
Have you lived in or near New Malden? It's nicknamed Little Korea for good reason. One of my favourite towns. OP perfectly described an elderly Korean lady from there
It was lovely how the lady interacted with the grandchild

Long time lurker here.

@Andromeida59 I'm not sure if you're talking about the same one as me, but this is one I remember:

Last year there was a thread of a woman who'd been walking her dog down a country lane at night and saw a man she thought was acting suspiciously (don't really remember the details.) I think she thought he was trying to break into her neighbour's house. Anyway it all went a bit sinister and loads of posts got deleted by MNHQ and were followed by some people very concerned about OP's welfare - I think in the end people were egging her on to move out or something?

Sorry the details are very sketchy, and I can't for the life of me find the thread . I'm just wondering if anyone else remembers the thread, and can fill in the gap between OP seeing a slightly Hmm looking man on a country lane and people telling her she needed to move?

The only shocking thing about most of these is that people fall for them.

Korean woman thread was thinly veiled Little England racism. Fat balls was bollocks. PB was bollocks. David was a scammer. Etc etc.

The current one where OP's friend admits to killing the pet guinea pig in order to persuade her ex to come home from a date.

@TeaStory
The woman who screamed at paintings

Yes, funny until MN HQ commented and it turned out was suspected troll if I remember correctly.

Not read the thread, but off top of my head funny one I remember is the lemon drizzle cake.
Also the Trip Advisor numpties one! lol

Shocking ones - one that sticks out is the poster who thought nothing of spraying a man just jogging past her on a canal path, completely oblivious to the fact her spray painting him and branding him made her the attacker, not him just going about his business.

A long running thread from a young mum (baby conceived through rape)that divided many posters and led to some spats and spilled over into RL.
She was very needy, anxious, depressed. Started many threads usually just posting a sad face or a couple of words and she’d be met with hordes of supportive (sometimes competitively so), endlessly patient posters who seemed to be in thrall to this young woman.
Ended with a meet up between the poster and one of their most vocal supporters - it was all fairly hush hush what occurred during the meet up but led to the aforementioned support being withdrawn and the supportive poster feeling quite damaged by the experience.

This sticks in my mind the most.....

The David Kalman post. The guy whose wife was dying of cancer, then the post went all tits up because he was allegedly a fake.

I don't know if he was ever exposed as a weirdo or he was genuinely her husband

Can anybody link me to the fucking hilarious thread about an item for sale on EBay that was a homemade 12 Days Of Christmas table centrepiece?

More memorable than shocking as such, but threads that stay in my mind are the one posted around Xmas 2016 which I think was titled "Aibu to want to run away" or something similar about a young woman with a toddler (I think or he may have been a baby) and she was dying of cancer....it was so sad and there were lots if long gaps between her posts. I often think of her and hope she's still with us

Oh yes , I remember that poster , she said something like "today is my 25th birthday and it is likely to be my last" , she had a young child but changed the He to She in the thread so got a load of Hmm comments.

Antique ram castrator ran to a filled-up thread and more than a half-full second one:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3106500-CF-friend-or-AIBU

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3108140-CF-Friend-the-antique-ram-castrator-Part-2

Also, the one where the extremely rich PILs sent their DIL an invoice after she broke a ridiculously expensive wine glass:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3239370-PIL-has-sent-be-a-bill-for-a-broken-wine-glass?pg=1&messages=100

Like so many of the CF threads, they're hilarious from an outsider's point of view, but you have to feel so sorry for the folk who actually have to live or work with these people. Wine glass lady especially seemed to have been left feeling so desolate from it all.
