Just as an aside the Royals as a rule don't buy their cars, they rent them.
My mum dealt with The Queen Mother's car and it was returned to her company not long after she died as it had been adapted for her wheel chair and they had no further use for it.

Charlie97 · 28/01/2019 16:16

@ChesterGreySideboard did the QM drive? Or was it adapted for her as a psssenger?

ChesterGreySideboard · 28/01/2019 16:17

For her as a passenger, I can't imagine she ever drove herself.

Charlie97 · 28/01/2019 16:24

@ChesterGreySideboard I did wonder Grin

ChesterGreySideboard · 28/01/2019 16:35

I remember now, it was Princess Margaret’s car and when she died HM the QM had it.

Youknowmedontyou · 09/02/2019 18:36

Ah well he's giving up his driving license .... voluntarily apparently 🙄

HoraceCope · 09/02/2019 18:37

Forced into it though probably.

HoraceCope · 09/02/2019 18:38

strongly advised probably

bellabasset · 09/02/2019 18:39

As he is giving up his licence he is at least acknowledging he poses a risk.

HoraceCope · 09/02/2019 18:46

I dont think he is acknowledging anything, just bowing to public pressure.

IamTheMeg · 09/02/2019 19:08

It is probably the fact he's a human being and it shook him up.

Youknowmedontyou · 09/02/2019 19:15

@IamTheMeg or because he's to old to drive now.....

Bluelady · 09/02/2019 19:19

Public pressure is my guess. He'll continue on private land.

Youknowmedontyou · 09/02/2019 19:22

@Bluelady did he tell you that personally? You seem to know an awful lot about the RF! 😀

My guess is the police said don't make us charge you for dangerous driving, just give in gracefully!

Justaboy · 09/02/2019 19:55

Bet he's had a right earbend from her indoors! Still he can hare around the estates as long as its not the pubic parts!

Justaboy · 09/02/2019 19:56

Sh*t how do you recall misspelt posts::?.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 09/02/2019 19:59

@Justaboy I'm sure Her Maj wouldn't be too keen on Phil doing THAT!

Bluelady · 09/02/2019 20:04

@youknowmedontyou, I forgot this was the thread where reading ability is in the remedial class. That's why I said I guess, not I know.

Youknowmedontyou · 09/02/2019 20:29

Public pressure is my guess. He'll continue on private land.

@Bluelady, now let me explain, punctuation made the first sentence a guess. The "full stop" which is this thing . made the second sentence a statement, he'll continue on private land.

Did you mean to write:-

I guess it was public pressure and that he'll continue on private land.

And you knock others comprehension of the queens English ..... your invite to that garden party isn't going to be forthcoming.

Bluelady · 09/02/2019 20:42

My invitation to a garden party came through in 2015, we had a lovely afternoon at the Palace, thank you.

thenightsky · 09/02/2019 22:04

Ooh. I went to a garden party back in 1991. I was three weeks off giving birth to DS. It was awful... boiling hot day and no bugger would let me have a seat and all the sandwiches got inhaled by the faster guests.
