I stumbled upon a photograph of me as a teenager. It got me wondering what I wish I could have known then.

Don't be so flattered by male attention...it doesn't make you special unless it is the right attention.

Plan a little bit more for the future

You are as good as anyone else. Don't apologise for being you.

Enjoy the freedom of being young.

What would you say?

Don’t rely on your looks. They fade.

Pachyderm1 · 15/01/2019 20:02

I would say you are NOT fat, and in years to come you will look back and mourn not realising how hot and skinny you are.

I would say feeling everything very intensely is a strength.

I would say thank you for working so hard at school, and setting me up for the life I have now.

Arkos · 15/01/2019 20:03

Don't eat the cake

fruityb · 15/01/2019 20:04

Stop thinking you’re ugly - you’re really not at all.

Love every bit of you.

Don’t value yourself by what men think of you.

Don’t confuse sex with love - not that that’s a problem now I’m happily married but it kept me stuck in a relationship I should have ended far sooner.

You’re amazing - you’re smart, you’re funny, you’re a good person. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Ever.

Lymphy · 15/01/2019 20:06

Save some money whilst your still living at home, you’ll massively regret it.

You think you are too fat, you really aren’t

Don’t drink as much disell you’ll get in some right pickles if you do!

BirthdayCakes · 15/01/2019 20:07

Focus!

3boysandabump · 15/01/2019 20:07

Stick in at school.

Don't start smoking

Lymphy · 15/01/2019 20:08

*diesel

curlykaren · 15/01/2019 20:10

Smoke much less dope and take action on your ideas not just have them.

DangerMouse17 · 15/01/2019 20:10

You are slim

You are beautiful

You don't need others for validation

Never get into debt and save

Do what makes you happy....don't live to please others or stick by their thoughts of what you should do

Lose weight
Join the Police
Or get your arse in gear and back to uni for a degree that actually leads to a job!
Marry differently.

halfwitpicker · 15/01/2019 20:22

Or: lose weight, do Page 3 for a few years, invest the money and retire young. I'm not kidding. I could have made a fortune.

Readysteadygoat · 15/01/2019 20:27

He's not drinking that much because he's young and enjoying himself, he's an alcoholic and it will nearly kill him

Try harder at A levels and go to Uni, then pick a job you can do around kids

Make more of an effort with your grandparents, they won't be here forever

Ostagazuzulum · 15/01/2019 20:29

Save money &
Don't marry him (first husband - I quite like second one so I'm keeping him!)

user1471530109 · 15/01/2019 20:29

Don't marry the cunt!

And you are not fat. In 20 years time you will mourn that figure.
You put on weight because you married the cunt.

2cats2many · 15/01/2019 20:31

You're not as fat as you think.

Propertywoe · 15/01/2019 20:33

Take care of your teeth better by cutting out the addiction of Diet Coke.

Drogosnextwife · 15/01/2019 20:33

Work harder at making a proper career for yourself and stop messing about drinking and partying with the wrong people looking for acceptance.
Stop letting that bitch make your life miserable and stick up for yourself, it couldn't get any worse than it is.

JoeLycettsSparklyArmSling · 15/01/2019 20:38

Go to school, stop bunking off! Finish college.

If your gut instinct is telling you something listen to it. You’ll get hurt otherwise.

You’re not fat you stupid cow. You’re a bloody size 8 or something. Wait til you’re the wrong side of 30 with 2 kids, on numerous medications then moan about your body.

MyNameIsNotSteven · 15/01/2019 20:39

Don't train as a teacher - not a secondary teacher anyway.

BurpsandHustles · 15/01/2019 20:44

Keep slim, get a sport work harder in school, push for more concession in school and uni due to ghastly home life seriously impeding work.
Start low that's fine, and get a skill.
Don't go to uni, get good job and pay for yourself later on for fun.
Tell people to fuck off more quickly...

Never ever meet your in laws. Trust your bf (future dh) when he says they are a flecking nightmare. Don't meet them.

Run off to Italy or somewhere and live together.

tarheelbaby · 15/01/2019 20:46

-You don't have to go straight to university from school. There are ways to explore the world and be paid for it - EAL teaching, flight attendants.
-Study more practical subjects at university. (although what those would have been I don't know even now)

  • Promote yourself, be looking for the next job b/c people will not automatically offer you the next step.
and, of course, -you're not fat - no one thinks you are either
Diel · 15/01/2019 20:46

Ah, yes, I agree with appreciating our grandparents more. I miss mine.
