Bristol News

I know this is not the only girl this has happened to. I know there will be many many girls who have suffered the same humiliation in school just today.

I was one of them many years ago.
So many times i bled through my pad in lesson but I knew asking to go to the toilet in would be met with a NO so i didn't bother. It was a humiliation in its self for the whole class to know you needed the loo. Such a public audience for an other wise private act.

I have already told my DDs should they need the toilet they must ask but if refused walk out of lesson if they absolutely cannot wait and I will deal with school.
They will not suffer the humiliation and shame of leaving blood on a school chair as I did.

When I was in secondary school, probably about 12 or 13 a boy pinged my bra and it came undone, I asked to go to the loo and the teacher said no. I was a very shy child and I wouldn’t have dared ask a 2nd time after being told no but I fully intend to tell my daughter that if she needs to go and she’s refused permission that she should just get up and go and I’ll deal with the school. Denying access to a toilet is disgusting behaviour.

So do you just not bother getting to the bottom of anything at your school? Do you never investigate bullying or anything? How strange?
Still why don't we just close everything that risks being vandalised? Why bother opening any public building?
When I was at university the students' union often had to deal with vandalism. It was investigated and disciplinaries were held. We didn't close the union to everyone!

Weetabixandshreddies · 20/01/2019 20:36

Exactly. And no one saw anything either.

Well, yes, that's what they do isn't it? Can't think where a public toilet is round here.

And of course you investigate. Doesn't mean it will get you anywhere, other than a list of suspects.

CosmicCanary · 20/01/2019 20:40

Any chance of an answer to my question Weet, or are you just going to ignore me like you have done throughout this thread when you cannot answer?

@CosmicCanary
Loads of my points you've not answered.

Is there really any point in my listing what you've said, especially when you've said I keep moving away from the point?

Some days she literally flew in through the front door to get to the loo.

She wouldn't drink anything all day either so that she didn't need to go.

What can you do though? School tried their best to deal with it.

CosmicCanary · 20/01/2019 20:46

Loads of my points you've not answered.

I have been pretty consistent throughout this thread and answered all questions and posts you directed to me.

Is there really any point in my listing what you've said, especially when you've said I keep moving away from the point?

Its because you can't that's why as I have stayed on topic unlike you of course.
You are on this thread in bad faith and that is very clear.

OP posts:
Weetabixandshreddies · 20/01/2019 20:46

I bet if I allowed children to go to the toilet and then kept them in at lunch to make up the work, there would be uproars too?

Have you checked the NUT guidelines?

Weetabixandshreddies · 20/01/2019 20:46

Oh I really can if you want me to.

Weetabixandshreddies · 20/01/2019 20:48

No I'm not. I disagree with you. I am allowed to have a different opinion.

CosmicCanary · 20/01/2019 20:49

I am pleased you to have found humour on this thread about an 11 yo forced to bleed through her clothes. Its clear just what kind of people you are.
I would say you should be ashamed of yourselves but those as nasty and petty as you two never will be.

I shall leave you both to it. You have got what you wanted and made this thread your own. All the decent posters have long since left.

OP posts:

It has been almost a week since this thread started.

What is being achieved here?

Cosmic, it doesn't seem like you want to have a conversation. It seems like you just want to argue. For a week. That is quite a strange thing to want to do. Reading your posts makes me feel stressed becauee you are speaking so angrily and rudely (sick, twisted, etc) to other posters. Many sensible and practical suggestions have been made to you about how to help your DD but you do not want to take any of that advice or indeed any action to change the situation at yout DDs school. You just want to argue the samr points repeatedly with strangers on the internet. This is incomprehensible to me.

What is this thread doing for you right now? Are you enjoying arguing? Is it not stressing you out? Because arguing stresses most people out tends to bad for your mood.

You disagree fundamentally with other posters here. The last 24 (TWENTY FOUR!!!!!) pages of this thread demonstrate that no one is going to change their mind. We are all grown women.

What is the point in keeping this going?

CosmicCanary · 20/01/2019 20:50

Oh I really can if you want me to.

Go for it. I will wait.

Not finding humour in anything other than the fanatical views being displayed by some on here.

Eg only allowing girls to go to the toilet to deal with periods

Weetabixandshreddies · 20/01/2019 20:54

@jacomax

Completely agree. And to say it's about human rights and access to toilets when actually it only applies if you are a girl just beggars belief.

CosmicCanary · 20/01/2019 20:55

I am sorry is there a time limit on threads?
Or is it just me you are having a go at?

have been made to you about how to help your DD but you do not want to take any of that advice or indeed any action to change the situation at yout DDs school.

My DD is not as yet having any problems at school. The thread was about the article in the Bristol news.

What is this thread doing for you right now? Are you enjoying arguing? Is it not stressing you out? Because arguing stresses most people out tends to bad for your mood.

Do you go around policing all threads or just mine?

What the hell has it got to do with you?
How big do you think you are seriously?
Its at 24 pages because people keep posting on it.

You dont have to read it. Hide it but dont post such patronising bollocks.

That was said by 1 poster but hey you hold on to that with both hands if you need to Hmm

I am curious because I posted here days ago and chatted (not sure that's the right word as the tone wasn't exactly civil on your part tbh). I left because I realised you didn't want to have a conversation with anyone with a different viewpoint and I didn't enjoy being insulted so I hid it.

It popped up again on AIBU and was shocked to see it was still going, opened out of curiosity and it's verbatim what was being said days and days ago.

I'm sorry if you find me patronising but I've got to say that I find the whole situation totally absurd. Even your response to me here is so aggressive that I feel taken aback that you're genuinely getting apoplectically angry so easily.
