By the way I am not for another Brexit referendum but I am seeing a lot about it on the news/social media and it got be wondering what everyone would vote if it did happen and what did you vote before? I voted remain and would vote remain again.

HateIsNotGood · 14/01/2019 22:16

OP not been back then...as you were MNers

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 14/01/2019 22:18

Leave then and leave now

bengalcat · 14/01/2019 22:18

Still remain

londonrach · 14/01/2019 22:20

@mrsariadneoliver. I know. As i said above i voted leave but if we had another vote and theres no way we should id double in fact triple vote leave. It shocks me how many people saying the same. Unlikely the politicians people seem to discuss it openly and theres no bad feeling either way and tbh there is no straight forward answer. Both have things for and against i just feel we better leaving now. Eu has shown their true colours and to back out now we look vvv weak. Dh is remain and vote remain again. However hes was vvvvv strong remain but understands why ive changed my vote. May has had a hard job but not done a good job. If anything this whole situation has show us how bad all are politicians are! Ive no idea which way id vote in a general election now but i do know we need to leave.

Lwoj · 14/01/2019 22:20

Remain then, remain now. I have in the last two years tried to find one positive from brexit. There is none. It frightens the life out of me. I don’t like what Britain has come to represent.

Confusedbeetle · 14/01/2019 22:20

Leave then leave now. any second referendum would not give that choice, it would be Mays deal= remain, or no deal. The government has screwed it well and truly. Anyone listen to the Stoke people today?

Lonelyheart2020 · 14/01/2019 22:23

My daughter was septic on the day of the vote !
If I had the chance to would vote remain 100 percent no hesitation

Confusedbeetle · 14/01/2019 22:23

The EU once again are calling all the shots. The bully won. As you were minions, we have you all in our hands. Dear me, wake up and smell the coffee

bumbleymummy · 14/01/2019 22:26

Remain and remain. Why would anyone who voted remain the first time now be convinced that leaving was the better option? Confused

blibbka · 14/01/2019 22:28

@Confusedbeetle.

The EU have been "calling all the shots" because - contrary to the lies told by various high-profile Brexiteers in the ref campaign - the EU has a far stronger negotiating hand than the UK. As you'd expect given the scale of the EU vs the UK.

This would not have come as a surprise were it not for the nonsense about "easiest trade deals in history" and how German car-makers telling Merkel to make things easy for us, etc.

ilovesooty · 14/01/2019 22:29

The EU are not under any obligation to facilitate an advisory vote in a referendum. We have failed to bring anything acceptable to the table and were arrogant enough to assume negotiations would be easy.

simplesalvage · 14/01/2019 22:29

HateIsNotGood what is wrong with a bit of debate?

AnneElliott · 14/01/2019 22:31

Voted leave in 2016. Not sure if I would vote if there was a second referendum - it depends on the question.

kayakingmum · 14/01/2019 22:35

I didnt vote before because I didn't know which way to vote. Would definitely vote remain now as things seem a lot clearer now.
I would like another referendum as the public has a lot more information now so is able to make a more informed decision.

marmeladerose · 14/01/2019 22:46

Love reading everyones opinions on this. Very interested on people who voted remain but would change their minds to leave..

Theworldisfullofgs · 14/01/2019 22:56

Remain then, remain now.

Know a good few people who voted leave, who don't want it now.

Deadbudgie · 14/01/2019 23:00

I do find it strange when people say things are
A lot clearer now so would vote remain. Actually the only thing we have learned is the difficulty extracting ourselves from the EU which has largely arisen from our politicians fucking up the negotiations. We have learned nothing about the future long term relationship with the EU as that has to be negotiated still. We are still no clearer about the “ever closer union” the EU institutions are still pretty shit.

Changing your vote now would be a vote on the process of leaving the EU rather than a vote re being in the EU going forward, an institution which is striving towards something that is very different from today.

Whatafustercluck · 14/01/2019 23:01

Still remain. Except much more vociferous now.

northumberlandgal · 14/01/2019 23:02

I'm not sure what people expected the EU to do? We have obligations which mean we owe money. That's fact, not opinion. People really believe that we are still "great" Britain, and we can get what we want, when actually the works is a very different place than it was 40-50yrs ago.
And those people saying that the establishment are stopping Brexit; BoJo, Farage, JRM and Lord Rothermere are the ones who want Brexit and are the epitome of the establishment. The MP's who want to
stop this madness are the ones who know that it's going to make all Our lives harder.
It is clear as day now that leaving will make us all worse off. Even JRM has said it will take us a generation to start to reap the benefits. Why the fuck does anyone want to keep on running anyway and jump off the cliff? I absolutely despair.

themueslicamel · 14/01/2019 23:07

Leave then, leave now.

I don't know anyone who's changed their mind.

Propertywoe · 14/01/2019 23:07

I would vote remain again but only because there is no point if the MPs are in a majority remain there will be more of the same if leave won again. If we had never joined I would not vote to join. It’s a corrupt money pit and I wouldn’t trust Junker with my Kids piggy bank.

DrawingLife · 14/01/2019 23:12

Remain.

DammitOedipus · 14/01/2019 23:17

I voted remain and would do it again. I think a lot of ignorance and hatred fueled the referendum, and that really made me feel that my choice to live in this country (that I had previously viewed as accepting and generous) was very much a poor decision.

Those people who voted leave with education and valid reasoning behind the vote, I completely understand. All of our situations are different. But the racism and xenophobia from the vast majority? Truly hideous.

tillytrotter1 · 14/01/2019 23:22

Now there is a plan on the table on which people can vote a second vote should be held. Two years ago we were asked to vote with no proposals on the table, the EU wouldn't negotiate before the vote, now there are plans it seems totally reasonable to ask if it's what is wanted. The original referendum should clearly have been a vote on whether or not to open negotiations, with a second vote on the proposals.
