By the way I am not for another Brexit referendum but I am seeing a lot about it on the news/social media and it got be wondering what everyone would vote if it did happen and what did you vote before? I voted remain and would vote remain again.

Voted remain and 100% would do the same again.

NigellasGuest · 14/01/2019 20:53

@LokiBear I honestly wish there never had been a referendum and none of this had happened in the first place, but I feel that we would be a total laughing stock, even more than we are right now, if we changed our minds and said please can we not leave anymore. It's all such a mess and would be even more of a mess to change direction now. I might be wrong and am willing to be persuaded otherwise! I just feel like it would be like trying to turn around an already out of control juggernaut.

hongkongally · 14/01/2019 20:54

Leave then, leave now.

With so many people voting Remain the first time on here I'm surprised Leave won!

AnnaMariaDreams · 14/01/2019 20:58

It’s based on the fact that I’ve said I’d be really upset if she voted leave again!
On the plus side she’s helping us do the stockpile- apparently it’s fun!

northumberlandgal · 14/01/2019 20:58

Remain then and I am even more convinced, after this shit show, that staying in the EU is the best thing for us.
Out of interest, to those posters who say they are even stronger leavers now because of how the EU have behaved, what exactly have they done? To me, it's been the expectations of the British government that have been ridiculous, not the EU.

RedWineIsFabulous · 14/01/2019 20:59

Beachbody

That’s fab but where I am and in my circle the views are the same!

Deadbudgie · 14/01/2019 20:59

Leave then and leave now. None of the reasons I voted leave have changed. Oh n fact the last couple of years have taken away any doubt as to my vote.

I have a horrible feeling though that we are about to be screwed over by the establishment and we won’t actually leave. In which case I will never vote for anything again. The little trust I have in our political system will be annihilated.

LokiBear · 14/01/2019 20:59

@NigellasGuest I absolutely agree with you that we should never have been a referendum in the first place. I also agree we are a laughing stock and look very weak. Although I voted remain, I worry about the impact of a 2nd referendum. I worry it would cause civil unrest and further extremism. Thank you for answering my questionSmile.

catx1606 · 14/01/2019 21:00

Leave and leave again and a lot of people that I know who voted leave would vote leave again.

RedWineIsFabulous · 14/01/2019 21:01

This site is very left leaning and so majority are Remainers....

Not really a true reflection of real life and I personally take the left wing bias on here with a pinch of salt!

RedWineIsFabulous · 14/01/2019 21:04

It’s insane that the remainers don’t get what they want so fuck the 17.4 million that has the majority thus voting out... instead they desperately want to have another referendum until they get the result they want.....

Seniorcitizen1 · 14/01/2019 21:05

Remain in 2016 leave next time if there is next time. Behaviour of eu means I hate it with a vengence

KC225 · 14/01/2019 21:05

Didn't vote last time, would vote leave this time

Remain and remain.

I did wonder if the fact the vote happened during Glastonbury made a difference. That’s about 300 000 (often) left wing people who were (probably) going to vote remain being away from home. I was there and voted by post but I’m sure there were a few thousand votes lost at least because of that timing.

Please don’t flame me too hard for that comment. I know not all the people at glasto would voted remain. I’m sure most did do a postal vote... was just an idle thought.

Ta1kinPeace · 14/01/2019 21:06

Redwineisfabulous
This site is very left leaning
ROTFLMAO
Considering almost every Boarding School parent in the UK seems to post on this site
as do most of the households earning over £100,000
and lots of folks with thousands to spend on style and beauty
I'd never call this place left wing.

User758172 · 14/01/2019 21:09

Remain then, but if another referendum came about, would vote Leave.

If we don’t respect the result of the first referendum, why respect the result of the second.

LokiBear · 14/01/2019 21:12

I dont think anyone has suggested that there should be a 2nd referendum so the remainers get what they want. Just questioned if ypur opinion has changed. Some people have changed tbeir opinion. I voted remain and I don't know how I feel about a 2nd vote. I desperately do not want Brexit as it is now, but also feel that 17.4 million people voted leave and do not deserve that vote to be over turned. However, we do know more about what we a facing now. I honestly can not reconcile my feelings on it. All I do know is that we should never have had a referendum in the first place.

EleanorTopaz · 14/01/2019 21:13

Leave then, leave again. DP, my parents and my DS the same.

HoustonBess · 14/01/2019 21:15

Mrs AriadneOliver If we don’t respect the result of the first referendum, why respect the result of the second.

I don't see why it's a matter of disrespect to check that now people know more, they still want to proceed with what even enthusiastic Brexiters admit will cause job losses and upheaval.

If you agree to have an operation, you still have to sign a consent form before you go under.

The real problem is that Brexiters know they would lose. Therefore it's not the bloody will of the people, is it? Even the extra young people who have come onto the electoral roll since 2016 could be enough to overturn the result, nevermind all the people who realise they were lied to. Besides that, parliament should be sovereign and there's no majority for any of the Brexits on offer in parliament.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/01/2019 21:17

Leave then. Probably leave again. Not sure this time around.

Of all the leave voters I know, nobody has changed their mind, except (possibly) me.

Autumnnymph · 14/01/2019 21:17

Remain then - remain now

llangennith · 14/01/2019 21:17

Leave then leave now.

Ta1kinPeace · 14/01/2019 21:17

If we don’t respect the result of the first referendum, why respect the result of the second.
Indeed.
First one was entirely advisory. It created no legal obligation on anybody.
If it had been binding, it would have been overturned due to the breaches of electoral law
Hence why I do not support another one.

NigellasGuest · 14/01/2019 21:18

@LokiBear Smile not at all!
